yeah i agree with you that most people trying out the game will see all these bots and the spam in lowbie zones and just be super sad and quit.

I agree, I have played since early access and haven't seen any substantial fix to address the issue.

Honestly, you can say who is a bot and who is a farming, living, legit player rather well almost every time. In most cases they can't even be bothered to name the character in a normal way, so that makes it simpler too.

...And as far as I'm concerned, multiboxer farming a bot with 8 character should be disposed just as the bots. *shrug*
    Failing is a lifestyle too.

/agreed completely, these are bot scum.

One potential solution is to not always make the NPC spawn in the same spot; anywhere within the room, perhaps?

Someone posted this video in another thread last night and watching them all take damage at the same time is oddly funny.

Here is video from same dungeon, same one that @Clotholachesisatropos666b14_ESO claims that these are real people.

Notice that guy with a bow pull mob and you see bots synchro attacks.

Yeah, in this case I think that Cloth-whats-his-name is right. This looks like two players multiboxing a group of three characters each. I see this a whole lot in the dungeons.

I think this is multiboxing based on the lag between characters and the similar actions. It is clear that a single entity is running three at the same time. This would be different if the three characters were controlled independently.

I think the entity is a live player because I see some hesitation in action and the characters do not return to the exact same spot.

I think there are two players because the delay between the actions of each of the two groups is different and inconsistent. Some times they are going at the same time and sometime there is a perceptible difference in the actions.

The two players are working closely together and may be in communication outside of the game.

You may not like it, but we have yet to know what Zenimax thinks of multiboxing. Whether they are being disruptive to game play for other players is a matter for Zenimax to decide. These look like average monsters, not bosses, they are killing and they seem to be splitting between monsters that spawn in different places.

I do not like this sort of game play, so do not think I am creating apologies here, but I also have to say that I would not be reporting them.

A critique on taking videos in games.... set up your shot and then don't move. It is much easier to examine videos where the camera is not spinning all over the place. If you do have to move, s-l-o-w-l-y. You might have to do it more than once to get it right, but at least the camera isn't doing this Exorcist thing.

My quest buddy and I were discussing this morning how the recent bank and other fixes might not be enough to make us reinstate our subscriptions because of remaining concerns we have about the game. But we decided to play some since we still have free time left. The quest we did ended up bugged out... He found online that it was supposed to have been fixed in a previous patch but was obviously still broken. (sigh) He stopped playing for the day, so I just took a low level alt to a dungeon and was stunned to see SO many clearly botting toons with names that come from keyboard mashing (bunch of random letters).

    Last straw for me...

There is no autofollow in the game and as far as i know you cant run more then one instance of the game without using something to modify the game. I can guarentee you that these people are not running 4 computers with a switch or something and manually boxing those toons. Just report all of them that you see.

You are not allowed to manipulate your character with a third party program.

They are bots, doesn't matter if they are multiboxing. If you multibox but control the characters yourself, that's fine.

That's not what's going on though. You are not allowed to bot.
The number one rule of online gaming is now and has always been, Never play on Patch Day.

@lordrichter I agree about moving and recording but I had to because they moved so I could capture same motions. They were standing in the place where boss of that cave spawns. Most of them are templar class and they kill boss under 2 seconds with that spear ability.

We were pulling just regular mobs to show you how they move and fight, like one. But boss spawned maybe one time and they nuked him in 2 secs.

I will see and try to clear UI and stand still when recording next time. Thx for advice.

I think there is, agro as many mobs as you can, don't kill them, pull them over to the bots.

They were rare over 30 a few days ago, not any longer.
Shadowfen - every dungeon packed with bots (except broken tusk for some reason)
Eastmarch - every dungeon packed with bots.
Rift - all but 2 dungeons packed with bots.

Maybe the megaserver is just pushing me into bot-ed instances ? All I know is I can't find more than a handful of dungeons at any level that aren't being botted.

To the Troll up there... Nice try, but you're supposed to lure people into a Legitimate disagreement, Then drop the I'm-Clueless bomb (not going to look) after they're invested in the disagreement.

Poor thing.. you should have gone to an Accredited Trolliversity.

Though I do realise that botting can be frustrating, I'd much rather have them first focus on fixing the bugged quests... Not being able to progress is alot more anoying then running into multi-boxers imho

OK, I went back to wansalen, here is steady cam and UI off but turned on sometimes to see names. Now tell me are those real people or some third party software or simply bots?

    Both are really annoying.

I'm taking my time leveling, and am only just starting the quests in stormhaven. A couple of nights ago I finished the public dungeons in Glenumbra, they were zero fun due to the botters.

A group standing there, the second a boss spawns right where they are standing, all bots make the exact same moves, less than 2 seconds later boss is dead and the players wanting to play didn't get a hit.

Had to wait until it spawned again, the second the botters start moving, throw a ranged into them and hope for the best. Luckily I managed to complete them like this, didn't get any loot of any kind.

Today I did my first public dungeon in Stormhaven, exactly the same.

I now have zero desire to play public dungeons any more. So now I'm skipping what should be a fun part of game play altogether.

To me that should be just as important to fix as bugged quests, I want to run these dungeons at the correct level and fight the boss, something I can't currently do.

As I had not yet seen the bots in action, I logged my low level to take a look.

The ones I discovered were not camping the boss but running a circiut of the dungeon killing mobs.

I will admit shamelessly that I took advantage of this fact by keeping ahead of them attacking mobs first and letting them finish them off.

I have noticed that if I do enough damage before they arrive, I don't think they get credit and the program controlling them stuters before continuing.

Its also fun running mobs around them which also seems to confuse the program.

So all in all the plan to add a boss timer will do very little but hurt actual players who like to farm the bosses. As the Bots will run around the dungeons happily.

If we do a timer for all the dungeon, then I think we can expect to see these running around the wilds!

This really does need to be looked at...
