Bot Deadline: May 3rd, 2014

Zenimax, you have until May 3rd to fix the bot problem. At that point my free 30-day subscription runs out. Both myself and my wife will NOT renew if you haven't made significant progress on this problem. Talk to your server side engineering team - THEY are the key to fixing it.

Iron and Jute no longer exist in the world for humans during high activity hours, since player-managed invisible teleporting bots grab it long before human players can spot and acquire it. There are problems throughout low-level zones and dungeons, including dungeon bosses. The hack-sellers and bot-sellers are making money like crazy, and Zenimax is about to clobbered by people who don't think this kind of game is the "premium" MMO experience they're paying $15/month to play.

Personally I think there's bigger problems than bots right now.

I don't believe in issuing ultimatums, but I have to say I'm beyond frustrated with the bot problem. I'm probably one of this game's biggest fangirls. But lately I find myself logging out in frustration and going to play something else because it's just impossible to complete the minor public dungeons due to the crowd of bots with unintelligible names that stand in one place killing the same boss over and over and over. This is NOT fun. It's not challenging. It's ridiculous and game breaking. Please fix it.

MMO's will always suffer a subscription drop within a month or two.

The big question, how many will be staying, and for how long.
This game needs a miracle before I even consider subscribing.

ZoS lack of ability to communicate is one of the reasons.
    Gold sellers are another.
The third reason is the inability to create a game where you have thought about anti-cheat from A to Z.

I find the bots frustrating too. However, I'm not giving up. I do plan on playing after the 30 days is up.

I done the same OP, I've cancelled my subscription and will wait to see if they fix the worst of the bot, spam and dupe issues before I resub.

I love the game. It will be fixed. I will continue to support it.

However, I support the underlying theme and intent of your address. I agree, bots have ruined the game for many .

I can't enjoy a public dungeon at all. I rush through them just to get the shard and achievement because I know what's waiting at the end; six bots adorned in shriven rags, silently bobbing in eerie synchronicity...

    It's really quite revolting.

It's actually more than six bots in most dungeons, more like 15.

I don't think ZOS is going to pay any attention to forums threads that say if you don't do X by such a date, I'm quitting. That's not a good way for them to prioritize issues.

I don't think that people who matters (developers) are reading these forums at all. All they have done is hire a bunch of mods to do damage control, and make everything look rosier than it actually is.

I've seen 'naked' bots all over the place, appearing next to nodes and disappearing after. Makes you think that if the ESO staff actually just went into the game and looked around, they'd find them.

Maybe they just don't care or are not capable of fixing this. Maybe they should hire people that know how to do these things. :P

    Hello @Berylin,

We understand the frustration that can be generated by bots and gold spammers, their presence breaks the immersion, the economy and the fun. This is why we work very hard to minimize their impact on the experience of regular players and will work even harder to get them away from the game.

We encourage players to post on the official forums about their game experience, even if it is negative, as long as it is constructive and leads to a healthy discussions. However, please just note that this is the customer support forum, and we work hard to make this forum clear, readable, and usable by new players who encounter an issue in-game or with their account.

We appreciate that you took the time to give us your opinion. We will however close this thread as there seems to be no need for immediate support.

We thank you again for your feedback.
