Maintenance for the week of May 18:
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – May 18, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC)
· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – May 18, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 13:00 UTC (9:00AM EDT)
The issues on the North American megaservers have been resolved at this time. If you continue to experience difficulties at login, please restart your client. Thank you for your patience!

Please ZOS rethink Midyear Mayhem (My take on what is causing the server issues).

Wtf you are talking about, last year mayhem didnt happen, period. It was cancelled long before it even started. There wasnt any maintenance to add event since they cancelled the event weeks before. And January wasnt any replacement event, mayhem is happening in January since it started. Lots of easily fact checked lies you are bringing up in this thread.

It is called Midyear mayhem because it happens Midyear ie: June/July.

Just googled for 1st Midyear Mayhem was July 20th-31st 2017.

Lmao. So your proof and source of stuff you are saying is the name of the event and you are clueless January 2019 also had midyear mayhem or that reason for cancelling june 2019 mayhem was:
In light of our ongoing work to improve game performance and the Activity Finder, we are holding the Midyear Mayhem event until next year to ensure that the player experience is a good one. In its place, we are moving forward the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood Celebration Event, which will run from July 2 to July 15, and will give players the chance to earn the Event Tickets needed to start the Onyx Indrik mount evolution.

Actually they replaced the mayhem event with the TG and DB event after it was taken down.

Also you are only placing partial information to back your side of things.

I have posted all the dates so far not just the ones that back my claims.

The Quote about the replacement event also seems to lack other info. I can remember that thread and it was an apology for removing the Midyear mayhem event.

Find me proof they started Mayhem and then shut it down then eh? I would if such proof existed, but I cant make info on my own as well as you

I was searching the forums for the proof but furthest they go back for midyear mayhem is Jan this year.

Others also remember this happening if you read through this thread properly.

Again, it has nothing to do with Mayhem.

Do people not remember how it was for Jubilee event? Or any other regular maintenance that ended up at PC EU primetime?

It is just generally the Login Server infrastructure and how ending maintenance at a time with peak player amounts is a bad combination, be there event or not.

EU maintenance should end early at mornings. I know not perhaps most easy to get employees do the task at nightshift, but it would work way better.

Or someone is messing things up badly during maintenances, since this has been going on for years be there events or not. Games with as many players (or more) as ESO can do their regular and/or Update maintenances without such issues or of such happen it's like once a year. Here on PC EU things go bad more times than they go smooth. So something/someone is not working up to the standards. Not bashing any individual worker, but maybe ZOS could atleast have better timing on the maintenances since they know their player peak times.

Things should not go this badly so often even on standard maintenance.

Trying to link such problems to a single PVP event is not a solution, since when Mayhem was cancelled, same problems with the maintenance days continued. In PC EU it has become sorta meme already that while on other games the playability improves, here we usually get worse performance AND the login issues on top of that.

So please, why trying to link these persistant problems to one Event?

Unless got something against that Event and would get some sort of satisfaction of getting it cancelled? And.. same problems on the next maintenance would still happen. Again.

    *sigh*

I don't remember the exact timing of things but I remember the complaints because some people got a couple hours of the event before it was taken down and removed. I'm pretty sure that was Mayhem. It was the reason we had that short replacement in January (I think it was just a week). So I'm not sure the OP is incorrect. Just keep the additional servers active all year so you won't have to go through this each time.
It was the Undaunted event. Not Midyear Mayhem. Undaunted was up for a few hours (allowing a select FEW to obtain the Opal monster style pages) and was taken down. I know, because I sold one of those pages for a disgustingly high sum, in the interim where they were no longer available

Maybe there were issues with the IC celebration event too, I don't recall but that took place in September 2019, so maybe OP and you are remembering that one? But there were definitely issues with Undaunted.

Yes, it was the Undaunted Event that got closed down after couple hours so some did get their Opal stuff..

That one Mayhem Event was cancelled before it even started, because of the Group Finder and performance issues. Group Finder was important part to work, since 1 part of the achievements on Mayhem was needed to be done on Battlegrounds, and you needed a working Group Finder for that. So they did move Mayhem for later. Also, the fixed Group Finder was not working well in the next event (that was not Mayhem), so... yeah.

Wish people would have their FACTS right.. making up stuff just to get the PVP event cancelled is not a nice thing to do.

IF they would cancel the event, see what happens in the next maintenances again.

Remember last years, remember Greymoor launch week, remember random weekly maintenances without any update/patch and same happening?

I guess it was the Mayhem to blame for all of it because it was coming in some months from that maintenance?/s

I never said cancel the event just to rearrange it.

I am also looking forward to it.

And where do I blame this event for all issues. Did I ever say that?

    Just want a functioning game.

Again this maintenance was to get the game ready for the event (add extra campaigns).

So something has gone wrong with this issue at this time in regards to this event.

Yup I remember it well @Tyralbin , it was promptly replaced with the second TG/DB Event of the year 🤮

I wish they would invest into getting this game actually functioning - the PvP element is very fun on the off days that it actually works (hence my excitement and disappointment for the past MYM event(s)

"rethink Midyear Mayhem" is on your topic, and that can only mean cancelling it. And removing it into some future day like who knows how many months from now is same as cancelling it. And it would not solve any of these maintenance day problems we have had for long time. T

Thus, you should know why one can see only one reasoning behind such a suggestion.

Funny thing is, the performance problems are not tied to ANY event, even some like to blame them. It is just the Login Server and bad times of ending maintenances on peak player times. Also, they clearly had messed up something on the Account/Store part during it, since suddenly it went to maintenance after the server went Online finally. People cannot even login to their website accounts. So, is that also because of Mayhem? Or.. maybe because someone messed up something?

There are things to "rethink", but Mayhem is not one of them and not the thing to blame for this Login issue. Since it`s been happening a lot for last years, even without Events being even near.

    Just saying.

And enough about this subject for me. You can keep thinking what you want. But atleast stay on facts, so you not make some others blame these issues on one Event that has nothing to do with it.

Just give us the Second Legion Outfit already and cancel the event. But considering that that was meant to be the award for the event that was cancelled last year maybe just bin it.

It is clearly cursed by Morag Bal himself.

Then lets cancel ALL other events too. Also cancel regular weeks without any events, since those maintenances ALSO get way too often these login issues.

So canceling all weeks of having server Online seems to be the solution to the issues. Permanent shutdown and no more issues. Yay./s

Also, how do you explain the fact that people cannot login to their website account even, also Store not working? Because of Mayhem.. or.. maybe because they messed up something same as has happened on many regular maintenances that do not even have any updates/patch and also not having any Event coming up?

These technical issues been happening and they got nothing to do with any events.

Sure, they can cancel Mayhem for another 6 months.

Provided they cancel all trials for 6 months too. I heard those have problems.

Pvprs have a awful gaming experience and unlike Pvers, almost no set activities to do aside from daily pony running to keeps and fighting along the way.

There should be far more events for the Pvp community, not none.

every review ive seen for greymoor from a professional outlet basically mentioned constant performance issue as a negative for the game...so eso already has that reputation even in professional circles which usually notice these things very late or at least only mention them when they are really severe... Ive had hoped that having gotten this reputation would really intensify zos work on them...maybe they really cant be fixed as I cant understand how such a successful game in this day and age cant get a grip on them whereas other games with a lot more players seem to have no issues...

I think they should replace the Midyear Mayham event with a Crown Crate Event. Bring back every season of crown crates and let the whales bleed their wallets dry to save this sinking ship of a game.

Crown Crates flooding every tab in that stupid ad that pops up whenever we log in. The whales could literally a la carte their [snip] purchases! Problem solved.

Well, OP, they already prepared tickets and ton of goods to stimulate players who don't want to PVP or was unable to login or didn't have time.... to buy those tickets.
So event is inevitable, question is how ZOS will handle all that. I'm really curious.

ESO if you continue to experience issues consider that the hardware in the computer is bad.
Replace the following hardware in the computer in the below order.

    1) Replace the floppy data cable that connects the computer floppy drive to the motherboard.

    2) Replace the floppy drive if the floppy data cable did not resolve your issues.

    3) Replace or request that the motherboard be replaced.

Alright. Like I said I just remember the moaning about it more than the actual event. Mainly because people like you had such a huge advantage that none of us would ever be able to overcome. Forum posters can be quite melodramatic. So now I have no idea why Mayhem was moved to January because I'm sure the Undaunted came back at some point. To be honest, there have been so many events last year with tickets that they all blur to the point it seemed they lasted 52 weeks out of the year.
