I.... think that's my problem with this chapter. Skyrim (TES: V) is around 1k years in the future. NOTHING should look like that Skyrim in the "now" of this game, or very little.

A thousand years is.... forever.... in a medieval culture....

But how else will they be able to sell you on nostalgia?

They can't sell me on nostalgia personally. I'm just not made that way.

Hm, and you don't feel a shiver running down your spine when the original Morrowind theme is playing or the opening theme of Oblivion - I can hardly believe that.

Sure I do, but that's not due to ZOS selling me something. And in fact while I do like some of ESO's music, I'm much fonder of the music from the TES single player games. I listen to that (put my own soundtrack together a while back) more than the in-game music at this point.

I just wanted to listen to the original Morrowind sound track on youtube - but something seems to be wrong with it, doesn't load videos and comments and so on. And yet I meant those tracks from the single player game - even some variations of it in ESO are really impressive - in the end it is nostalgia and how I experienced those games, which makes it for me.

And basically they sell the game to me by nostalgia - otherwise I would not be willing to put up with all the flaws this game has.

The originals are far better than what's in ESO to me. *shrug* YMMV, of course. And I didn't use youtube - I recorded from the original games (yep, still have them all upstairs) then spliced them together so they flow.

After some extensive speed-testing, Alinor appears to win the game in terms of how rapidly Writ's can be completed, turned in, and then the reward items decon'd.

Solitude could have potentially matched this speed, if not for the loading screens.
Tis a shame really, as I was looking forward to doing everything in Solitude. Get it? /punny

If it were up to me, I'd have also put respec shrines and writs in Dusktown because, why not?
    Blackreach is friggin awesome.

Blackreach would be perfect. I never much cared for Solitude in Skyrim, but I extensively explored BR on multiple characters because I loved it so much.

Vivec still has the issue of weird hitboxes for the writ dropoffs though.

Yeah, that’s why it’s not my favourite, especially when you get someone hanging around with their bear turned on.

Vicec actually has great hitboxes for the writ dropoffs, there are two spots on the two respective sides - one in the front of the blacksmith box, the other next to the jewellery box - where you can drop off all the 3 and 4 writ on the given side without ever moving a step by just with pressing 'E' multiple times.

nobody here talks about Deshaan? it's the best. Everything is circled around the wayshrine. All craftings and the turn in writs.

Yeah, I used to writ in Mournhold for years, but you still have to go into two buildings around that wayshrine and to cook, you gotta head over to the inn (and then into the basement).

That's just too much loading screen time, now-a-days, since they've added the new zones that have taken some of those pain points away.

you're right, i didn't think about provisioning as i don't do these wirts. Provisioning and alchemy are the only writs i avoid, too many mats to take care of without the craft bag. For equipment and enchanting Deshaan is the best, i like it more also cuz it has the Undaunted not far, it's also a capital for some moral support and more populated area.

It bums me out as well. When I log in and out of the game, I want it to be in Solitude. I want my every day scenery to be in my new favorite place. But, invariably, I will always log in and out where the most convenient crafting stations are. For me, this is Summerset. And this gives me separation anxiety for some reason, like I am not connecting as much with the new content as I would really like.

This could be easily solved by letting us do our writs inside our homes. I would happily do my writs in Proudspire and contently live in the Greymoor Chapter until another Chapter's home tickled my fancy.

This could also be solved by just removing the doors of the crafting buildings that give us those dreaded load screens in Solitude. Sometimes, buildings don't have doors? It's a thing, I think. The fresh air helps us not catch the Covid, as well. If not for us, do it to spite the Covid. :/

Daggerfall is my crafting spot, granted have a house in most of the maps save clockwork if I recall right.

Not a lot of folks and a nice house across from the bank.

yeah i don't get why there is a longer load screen to enter radiant raments and the consumables building than the bank building. really, i don't get why there is a load screen to enter solitude from outside. i think there are lots of buildings in solitude that don't have load screens, the blue palace, the bard's college, maybe the mages guild if i'm not mistaken

agreed having to get 4 load screens to do writs just means that hardly anyone will do them there.

Man people have such short fuses these days .. i'm fine w crafting in solitude, its a compact area, AND the craft certifiers are right there as well.

My baby tank is doing her writs there, no complaints here.

If they add an outfit station in Vivec in the crafting area, it will be the perfect place for me. Now I am torn between Vivec and Alinor.

With provisioning and alchemy you can have someone else craft the items for you and you'll only need the bank/inventory space for the completed items. Since they stack, with provisioning you only need 6 slots available, and if you have a stack of each food/drink it will last you for 300 days.

Alchemy (at max tier) takes up 9 slots (5 potions/4 poisons) but full stacks of those will last you almost 2.5 years before crafting them again assuming you're only doing them on one character.

I guess what I'm saying is you could always pay someone to craft a bulk supply of these for you and still be able to do the writs everyday and not have to worry about inventory management of provisioning ingredients or alchemy reagents.

I have outfit station in the Villa - always daylight there, easier to figure out colors.
