I wear Orc belts because they still clip inside the character body completely, becoming hidden. Pretty sure the Orc style has flaps, so then all my characters would suddenly have random flaps on them. Not a win for me.

I like the idea but that would mean having to go in and redesign every piece of armor that has the flaps and also redesigning the corresponding belts. Not sure they are committed to that kind of time to change existing content.
no, don't move the mud flaps ...
Delete Them Completely!
i hate the mud flaps both on the belt and the hips.

They'd have to go back and do all of the old motifs, because having the hip flaps attached to belts on newer motifs and chests in older motifs would create a clipping nightmare.I like the idea but that would mean having to go in and redesign every piece of armor that has the flaps and also redesigning the corresponding belts. The devs can do this from now on with new motifs, if redesigning would be such a big task.
That's interesting to me. Very few of my characters care about what belt buckle they have--I almost always choose the cheapest reasonable option, since the buckle is so easy to overlook. The flaps are so much more noticeable to me. If they were attached to the waist, I'd actually care about what goes in that slot.Much as I like the idea of being able to get rid of flaps, my concern would be that I would then be stuck with a belt buckle I didn't like.
As, of course, the one I like would end up being the one with flaps everywhere...

I believe it is complicated to make a toggle that hides a part of a model. And it's not just about making a spandex suit (there are several solutions already for such an outfit type), you can create robes without flaps, or use certain flaps to different chest pieces. The Sapiarch motif has a small bag, the Dragonhorn (I think) have flasks, books, scrolls, etc which could be used in combination with other chest styles. I would lose the metal flaps from the Militant Ordinator, keep the skirt and chest, but add something like the Sapiarch bag, because my char is a magicka user.

By the look of some chest pieces that already come without those flaps, no, thank you. A toggle would be okay but removing them makes me want to puke. Ever used that metal t-shirt that Order of the Hour is? It's a heavy fashion crime (as well).
