Cyrodiil; same team scroll trolling; mass report from same alliance kill command, once per x hours.

Jest
Jest
Soul Shriven
Problem:
We've had a number of player-trolls that often like to bring in a low level player who trolls the same alliance. After a guild or force moves to take an opposing alliance scroll, this low level troll of the same alliance snatches the scroll and runs the scroll deeper into the opposing alliance lands. People not understanding what is happening protect this trolling player from opposing alliance, further causing issues. This often results in a failed scroll run and given how much scrolls are worth in the alliance scoring system it can be quite detrimental. There is currently no mechanic to stop the player other than death by the opposing alliance however this is often mitigated if they are communicating via discord to the opposing alliance and word reaches their zone chat.

Solution:
Introduce a mass report system, of the same alliance only, that automatically kills the player. Obviously you'd need a sufficient number or percentage of players of the same alliance to report or this could be open to abuse and you would also need to limit the amount of time this kill could be done on a player to once per x hours with the x to be determined - I mean how often could this player steal a scroll in a single day, right?

Time we were given our own tools to self-police if the inherent system is not being built to police itself.

I haven't seen this happen ,but let's suppose it's true. In that case,

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This game is full of exploiters. They are just more visible in Cyrodiil and PvP.
ZOS carefully said nothing about exploits and bugs identified in the previous Midyear Mayhem. I wouldn't be surprised if they said nothing about this -- especially since this isn't a bug. It's the player base doing it to themselves.
They are ruining the game for others and ultimately it ruins it for themselves when all the real players are gone and other players start cheesing them too, either to level the playing field or because they ae cheesers and exploiters themselves.

Honestly, they should just pull the plug on all overland PvP because it's way too easy to set up cheesing, exploits and griefing.

So that in unlocked campaigns, people can log alts of the appropriate faction to kill legitimate players?
No matter what someone's gonna figure out a way to exploit this because it's in the control of the players.

As much as I hate the scroll trolls, and as hilarious as this would be, a mass reporting system as described would be ripe for abuse and cause more problems than it would solve

ZOS has been warned that Alliance change tokens could generate traitors.
But it probably is important to ZOS to make more money with the clown store.

ZOS already said trolling with a scroll is no big deal, not in so many words, but they won't do anything about this kind of stuff.

Some kind of punishment for Treason is what is needed. Especially on the Alliance Locked campaigns.

Yes, paying crowns and change a character is far more sensible for a troll compared to rolling a new character for free and then troll an alliance with it.

The OP even mentioned low lvl chars.

Especially in no cp, faction change tokens are more or less a non-issue while the lack of a faction lock is the real issue.

Is not a good solution. People guild can report a player that have volendrung for the "scroll reason kick" and take that for personal purpose.

This would be a bad change.
The guy that takes the scroll can do with it what he wants. He can troll scroll, cap it or farm ap. Its his decision and other people shouldnt be allowed to punish his decision.

And any traitor gets balanced out.others give scrolls back to the original alliamce after nightcaps or place them at dc/drake/brindle.

Mass reporting something thats not bannable should be sanctioned aswell btw. Its a bad habit

The locked campaigns are still locked, you guys do realise that, right?

But no, for sure, in the unlocked campaigns, people are definitely paying $25 to swap character alliances just to troll, instead of switching to pre-existing characters of a different alliance.

    smh.

No. Scroll trolling (picking up a scroll and dropping it in slaughterfish or giving it to another faction) has been happening for years.
I can’t name and shame but we have at least one regular known scroll troll who we always watch out for on pc/NA/cp DC.

Any tool used to "self-police" will inevitably be misused. This one in particular seems rife with problems, as the zone chat campaign to get people to vote-kill the offending player would certainly be toxic and probably TOS-breaking. And that's assuming its used as the OP intends, against obvious trolls, instead of to just harass players that zone chat takes a dislike to.

Imagine it being used to kill an Emperor, emp candidate, or a particularly talkative Zone General. Even with a daily limit, that's pretty problematic.

Even if there weren't any exploits involved, the rollbacks many people got, some of which were pretty significant, undoing all their work --- that deserved a response.

this happens on all platforms and servers and has been since the start. Its annoying, but OP should realise theres no way to stop it unfortunately. All you can do is try and get there first before they can.

I dont get this man. Players complaining about spies and want ZOS to make it so you cant interact with players of different alliances. They want a mass kill on someone that is they think is a traitor/exploiter.

Its war, spies and traitors are part of war. Get used to it.

This is the type of exploiter culture that pervades ESO and ruins it.
The OP is describing a type of collaboration / win-trading -- and players defend it as a "feature".

Same with animation cancelling -- unintended animation cancelling in any other game is properly identified as a bug and exploit. Here, players beg for it to be a "feature" -- and the devs foolishly allow it, paving the way for more and more exploits. ZOS even had to nerf Bash damage because of all the bash abuse. Now combat difficulty is ruined for these players and they cry for harder overland and more challenging content. WTF.

    You ruined it for yourselves.

This type of behavior was a bigger issue years ago when there was a larger pvp population and people cared about competitive scoring that it negatively impacted. Back then ZOS did nothing, so....don't expect them to do anything now.

If you want to follow that logic, when spies and traitors were found they were executed (i.e. what the OP is asking for).
