Why are Mount Upgrades still not account-wide?

If I go to college and take a class, why don't my knowledge and grades automatically apply to everyone else in my family?

If someone else in my family takes a class in driver's education and gets a discount on their car insurance policy, why don't the rest of us automatically get one, too?

If I take horseback riding lessons and become skilled at it, why doesn't everyone else in my family automatically become equally skilled at it?

Because that's the way things work. I'm okay with it working that way in a game, too.

I just came back to the game for the first time in a few years, having a lot of fun but I have several alts and find this mount upgrade system to be really tedious. I also have no desire to pay real money to upgrade them. I wish they'd either make it account wide, or provide a way to lower the timer significantly such as having it reduce a moderate to significant % for each mount you've upgraded.
