Controls That Lock Up

Quite often I find myself with locked combat controls. Using weapons no longer respond to key presses, neither do dodge rolls, sprinting or weapon swaps. Sometimes this seems to correct itself within a few seconds and I can use my controls again, and sometimes it does not start working again unless I log out and then back in.

Often this happens in the middle of combat, which gets me killed.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, do you know of a quick-fix when it happens?

    Sometimes going into the main menu(esc) and then back out works for me...
    Sometimes it doesn't though. :3

    Yup, happened to me once. Figured it out by hitting "." key.

    Clearly an interface bug.

    There are workarounds such as hitting ESC or . but the issue still needs to be fixed. I don't know whether it is related, but just a couple of days ago I encountered a bug where I slowed right down and couldn't do anything, it was like a CC that I had been hit by that never wore off until I relogged - that sort of bug needs to go on the list of stuff to be fixed (yes I did use /bug in game to report it).

    This happened to me a lot too!

    Oh. I just assumed that my target used a stun on me lol as it usually only lasts a few seconds for me... wish I didn't read this thread cause :( It's going to irritate me every time it happens now I know it's a bug :\

    i have the same problem.. have to hit escape key to clear....

    yep press a key which isn't supposed to be used for combat to fix the broken combat.
    Sounds legit.

    happens to me all the time, makes the game unplayable.
    stopped playing until i see a patch note for that.

    The main reason I cancelled the recurring sub.

    If all else fail, do /reloadui and that works usually.

    LOL!

    Anyway, yes ESC does seem to "correct" it. But geesh I hope they fix this one soon. It is happening fairly often.

    i don't do work-around for broken combat UI. I stop playing.

    i do work-around for chat, bank and all other peripheral, extra-curicular nonsense, but non-responsive combat UI is a show-stopper
