Gold Excavation Incomplete but Complete?

I'm not sure if this is intended behavior, so I'm posting this here for visibility. It might be the way it's been designed, or it might be some horrible UI glitch/bug. I am on Xbox-NA. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

The below picture IS not fully excavated and I failed it due to running out of turns/time:

However, THIS below picture shows a completely successful excavation. I understand there might be the need to "Excavate sparkles", but the actual visuals seem to be really off in this scenario. Maybe this is by design? Doesn't make sense to me though...

Not surprising then. :/ This bug existed from the start on PTS. It was widely reported but never fixed. Greymoor rolled out on PC with the same bug, and it was eventually fixed after a while of being reported again. It's quite standard for console release to have the same bugs as PC release, since your patches need to be approved in advance by the third parties involved, even though this should have been fixed during PTS cycles.

Theoretically ZOS should already be aware of this and will out your fix ASAP, but it's probably best to keep reporting it anyway in case they forgot again. It is definitely not intended behavior.

While you have to deal with this, consider these work arounds: The green and yellow marks from the eye are accurate and he blue sparkle effect is also accurately located. Basically the only part that's bugged is the graphic for the actual item. Try to base your digging on the former two, while ignoring the latter.

Here's also additional data of the contrast between what counts as complete and incomplete:

It seems like there is a square of 3x4 with a single square off the edge of it? Is this how they all are, similarly to how the greens seem to be a 2x3 block?

@Texecutioner187 Here's a thread about which shape to look for. It's always diagonal, but the direction may differ.

Thank you. In that thread, the blue sparkle effect doesn't exist in their picture... any idea why?

I see it in the pictures? The second picture in the OP doesn't really show the sparkles, but if you look closely, that's very likely because they overlayed a dark grey-ish blue shape over it. I think that just hides the sparkles!
