whoever decided the drop rate of the stained glass from northern elsweyr dragons is a sadist. it wouldnt be as much of a problem if northern elsweyr dragons were not dead content when compared to southern elsweyr
Yes, i feel your pain. After 150+ dragons over several days nonstop......my eyes bled, but at least the lead finally dropped. Hang in there buddy!
I have killed them for about 3 hrs, and after the above claim, it seems like ZOS might have messed up. This would have been far more feasible if it dropped from southern elsweyr dragons, but northern elsweyr dragons are mostly dead content because southern ones have more incentive and actually have wayshrines that are close.

Went to Elsweyr, scryed for the initial green lead as I was just barely starting antiquities at the time and the dig site was close to that northwest wayshrine. Teleported there and noticed that the nearby dragon was in combat so I figured what the heck and joined in. And that’s why it just drops from the ‘dead’ dragons of Elsweyr.... if it wasn’t exclusive to them no one would bother with them as they’re poorly located, hard to get to and generally a pain compared to Southern Elsweyr ones.

On the bright side I've never liked killing Dragons so now they are left in peace.

Prrasha✭✭✭I got both dragon leads (north and south elsweyrs) on my first dragon quests in each zone, so within the first 3 dragons.
Dug both of them up.
Lots of dragons since then, no more leads.
Seems that's a pretty common result, from talk both here and in-game.
That sort of "luck" doesn't seem to be the same for other stuff... after completing the Stranglers, my first psijic portal in Summerset/Arteum had the lead again.

✭My hubby got it on the second one. Rng only loves one person in our house
So... we realised that Dragons are slow in NE because four people stand watching and waiting for more people to pitch.
We took the Kamikaze approach. Bunch of self heals, rush in and try stay alive for more than 45 seconds between the two of us. Even if you die, as soon as you rez, hit it again. What this does, is it puts the crossed swords on the Dragon. This pulls more people out of the woodwork until there are enough people to kill it. After another six Dragons, hubby left and I decided to dust off a DK and make it ridiculously tanky. Getting the fights going sped up the process as I could successfully tank the next seven or eight dragons (with one death) while waiting for more people to pitch.
It was educational and actually fun, albeit very basic tanking with one taunt, buffs heals, 45k health and completely selfish tank sets and monster helm. In the end probably 18 Dragons. The key is, you must initiate the fights to get the crossed swords on the map.Edited by Ryath_Waylander on June 20, 2020 9:25PM5 -

✭Not surprised that anyone got the lead first drop in the first couple days before the patch after launch.
ZoS seems to have tweaked the rng dial obviously and significantly to the point I feel sorry for those that weren't able to get into the game due to all the problems.
At least one of my guildies was smart enough to forgo questing or scrying and just went round collecting all the leads in the first couple days. She has quite a nice display house of all the items now xD
