Trust me, you want prices listed. Some items can fluctuate by over a 100k in price.
So you want an auction house that's called a "master trader" instead? Still an auction house...and still not needed!

I guess there's still no way to search many guild stores at once? Have to run around and visit multiple stores just to find seaflower tea recipe? Telling me where it was last sold and for how much doesn't tell me who has it for sale . . .
I hate the guild store system. I have limited time to play, running around all over the world tracking items that arent there anymore from TTC is so annoying. Not to mention all the, how do I put this politely, players with lots of time on their hands who go around buying up any item for a good price to flip them for profit. I can never find anything without a lot of effort.
The auction house in WoW was infinitely better. I actually engaged in selling in that game too, because it wasnt such an effort.
So we all know there is no global auction house. Some people love it some people hate it. One suggestion I have always had sense the beginning of the game I wanted to discuss.
Each of the factions main city should have a npc that's known as a master trader. You can type in or search any item that you want and they tell you which guild traders currently have that item in stock (but not the price). That way if your looking for a specific item you don't need to search through 100 guild sits r and waste hours and hours of your life looking for an item. As the price is also hidden this can cause the player to still have to search around a bit for the best price or risk that guild store selling out if someone else beats them to it.
I for one am personally sick of the amount of time it can take to find an item and I'm sure many of the lesser guild stores would love this feature to as it can attract new people to them for items that may be sitting there for a long time when no one even knows the guild store existed at that location.
Thoughts?

This system is easy enough and promotes a dynamic market instead of a garbage central market system. I dunno, if you want to play a game where every single aspect is as dumbed down for casual play as they possibly can then WoW might be for you. But ESO isnt that game and there is a reason why it's still so popular. It's because it's not another generic WoW clone. I don't understand this mentality of demanding everything be dumbed down for the people who put the least effort in. We don't want a generic WoW clone. I've never spent more than 10 minutes finding an item unless it's some really obscure TV set or something.

I like the idea of not seeing prices. That way it isn't just a race to the cheapest listed price. If you are looking for a certain recipe and ten different traders have it you would have to decide is it worth it visiting all ten to find best price or just go with the first one you get to.
And I know if prices were listed people would team up with friends one at the central location and others scattered throughout different zones so they could flip the bargains.
I mean you can already see the prices, you just have to use an outside source. The addon is used enough that It's quite easy to just always rush to the cheapest price, and I certainly don't always win that race. The functionality already exists and the market is still fine, so it's really not as big a deal as some people make it out to be. I definitely don't miss spending 30+ minutes hopping between all the big trading guilds hoping to find what I needed back in the day. That was just tedious and a waste of time.
