Speaking strictly for myself, I found that I really enjoyed starting a new character on the PC EU server a couple of years ago and having to start totally from scratch since it was my first-ever character on that server. So if I were in your shoes, I think I would go for it.
But I can also understand why some people might not want to have to start all over from scratch.
How do you feel about add-ons? I don't play with any, myself, but if you're interested in playing with add-ons then that would be one reason in favor of making the plunge.
A long time ago, before console was really a thing, ZOS gave PC players a 1 time option of paying to make a direct copy of their PC account, to one or more console environments.
I’ve never understood why in the past 5 years since, that ZOS has not offered this up as a paid option for continuous sale?

The add-ons, from what I hear, are TERRIFIC for game play. Such as trading and what-not. That was always a huge issue with console gaming on ESO. Trading can be a pain.
I suppose that is an idea. Wait until a free trial.
This, note performanse on console will increase a lot with next generation.VaranisArano wrote: »If you want to reexperience ESO with add-ons, yes.

Just ask on here, on reddit, or in your trade guild, and someone will probably be happy to send you a ton of research gear. It does take a while, but if you are willing to invest the skill points to the research passives and are diligent about researching, you can get back to 9 traits on everything in about half a year. I can send you gear on PC/NA if you decide to go that route.Jack_Of_Shades wrote: »So much crafting and trait research will be gone.
Jack_Of_Shades wrote: »@shimm: That's what I've heard, and seen. But I must admit, graphics has never TRULY been on the top of my list for gaming. I generally look at Control UI, gameplay as a whole and story as more important. But I'm glad it runs with such high performance on PC. That is always a bonus for video games.
@CMDR_Un1k0rn: Right, okay. So it varies I suppose from player to player? I mean, I live in North America. So I will just do what I have done on console, and stick with that server.
@Mitrenga: Yes, exactly. I started my ESO career back in 2015 on PS4. So I've been playing the game for about 5 years now, on and off. I don't really touch PvP, as I am WAY overly competitive and don't enjoy losing to other players. Not only that, it's hollow content FOR ME, so I choose to stay away. I typically enjoy overland content with some deviation to Maelstrom, if my build allows for it. Otherwise I like to craft, trade, adventure and complete achievements within the game. Sort of a completionist. lol
@Imryll: Okay, so then that makes sense why you use the EU server. It just conforms to your play time frame. I understand. lol
@AVaelham: Yes, I've actually played on the EU server on Xbox - briefly. And it wasn't bad, but that topic is exactly why I want to try PC. Add-ons are crucial to me, now that I've done research on them. That and members here have given specific recommendations. Which, thank you! My biggest issue with console was trading. No centralized pricing data for items, no way to know if you're getting the item you want without potentially being ripped off. It makes crafting (if you don't harvest everything) a bit volatile.
@Aisleyne: Oh wow! How did you manage that?! I noticed you said the add-ons and quality of life updates cut down time. I just don't know if it'll be the same, or better, in my instance. So much crafting and trait research will be gone.
That's also another variable right there! Limited time holiday event items. You're right, there is no telling if you can ever get them back. Would be nice if they just linked my email from the console to the PC version. And said, okay, here are your earned rewards from past holiday events. At least that, maybe.
@silvereyes: I've noticed TTC was a good source of information... for PC. But if you ever look at console, it's an empty warehouse of information. So, I used to use the website to get a ball park idea of what to sell my items for. Or, I would jump from guild vendor to guild vendor, and do an average price check. Then go slightly below the lowest sold item. Let me tell you, that takes forever when you're selling 60 plus items. I don't think I ever finished listing every item either. It was a nightmare.

That's what I figured, thanks for weighing in on the topic. It helps me get a feeling for what I should do. It's a big move, in all reality. A lot of money/time spent on the console versions. I'll be starting ALL over, so it's a huge deal.

It's worth it. I was in the same position. Been playing even more on PC though and it is very much worth it.
Zero regrets on my part, and no longer even think about my Xbox account.
Plus. Mouse and keyboard? Heck yeah! Now I've got to grips with them I will never go back to a controller!

That has been my biggest issue lately. I used to be a decently active PC gamer...15 years ago. lol
I've been spoiled by a controller, so I don't know if I would use mouse and keyboard on ESO. I also wasn't one for bar swapping. Does PC make bar swapping any easier?

I am going to be honest. No. I found it harder. Much harder.
Until, that is, I got an MMO mouse with 12 buttons on the side-plate. Once I got that, i was able to build a binding profile that worked much, much better for me. Basically, all my skill casting handled by my thumb on the mouse, attacks and blocks handled by the fingers on the mouse, and movement handled by my keyboard hand.
Also, if you use a gamepad on PC, you'll be stuck with the console UI which is a bit pants on PC. So I would recommend playing with a mouse and keyboard. Try a basic setup first but if you later feel you need more mouse buttons, go for a 12 button MMO mouse. I am saying this as a console gamer, to a console gamer.

Okay, sounds like I'll get a little overwhelmed at first. But thanks for the advice. Typically, I don't do heavy optimal builds or runs. So I tend to stick with one bar anyway. One spammable, aoe, heal, buff etc. But I'll see how it goes if I move to pc and go from there.

If you can't get on with a mouse, a gamepad is still a fine choice.
No PvP for me, so that's no problem.Depends..if you mostly pvp cyro then no..No matter how great your pc is the server is still trash..
Pve also depends..I hear that a lot of the raid players have left/taking a break due to performance
PC does not fix the issues but it does make it more manageable

Also, I don't do trials or the bigger group dungeons. So that's also out.
So it seems I'll be just fine if I decide to play, while using the NA Server.

Perfect? No.
But is it "literally unplayable"? Also no.

This.. you NA people bashing EU for nothing.
EU has more of a mature playerbase from what I've seen in my time playing.
The EU and NA servers are quite equal performance wise, I play on both.. my advice is, play where you are from.. otherwise ping is gonna screw you up badly. And yeah honestly if your computer can handle it I'd definetly re-purchase everything and play on PC. Just hope your laptop can handle the game, laptops aren't that great for gaming. Addons are great, especially lazywritcrafter.

I'll make this rather quick, I own this game on Xbox One. And I tend to always come back to it, no matter how mad I get at it at times. I've done A LOT on the console version, spent a decent amount of money on it. And own almost every DLC, with a few exceptions. I've recently purchased a gaming laptop (Asus Tuf FX505DU gaming laptop) and updated the DDR4 to 32GB Ram, and the Solid State Drive to a 1TB. So I could play the game on this Laptop. But here is my question:
Is it worth restarting EVERYTHING ENTIRELY, and repurchasing all the DLC, to buy ESO on PC?
Thanks for your input, I greatly appreciate it!
