You act like the addon does things a person who's dedicated to crafting can't do without it. Even so, it's a daily, like any other daily, so what does it matter if a person spends their time doing writs to get money and mats? It's not like people aren't out there making more money doing PvP and selling Gold Jewelry, or selling trial/dungeon/arena runs, or farming dungeons to get rare motif drops to sell, etc. It's not like people aren't getting mats by spending hours and hours a day farming nodes at any given route they have.Dusk_Coven wrote: »Maybe they don't think everyone on PC is already running max farming alts with Lazy Writ Crafter.
Or maybe they don't want to make that situation even worse by giving out more toon slots.

With Cadwell's Silver and Gold, something surely everyone with 18 maxed out characters has done already, and with the new Alliance Tokens, what difference does the number of factions make?
As someone already mentioned, in each of the threads on this so far, there was no new class to necessitate a new slot?

this is true... 18 toons is close to two hours for daily writ crafting as it is...

A lot of people want a lot of things. Some things are easily done, others not so much, and others are, as of this time, off the table. I'm a dedicated altaholic, I have three accounts in DDO, and two of them are maxed for characters, which are way more than I need for anything there. Here? I have 8, so far, and I'm not having any problems doing what I need, yet. I also keep a couple that are just "feeders". They get mats, motif drops, etc. for the crafters and serve no other function than being "placeholders". When I am deciding what I want to do, and how much, I have to look at "what's the limit I can have for characters" and plan accordingly. If one looks at what's offered, and decides there's not enough slots, but decide to go for it anyway, they've effectively shot themselves in the foot, especially if more slots aren't likely.
Are new slots likely? I couldn't say. As it stands, if I want to have available slots for new tutorials, or what have you, then it's on me to make sure I keep slots available for that. It is not, however, reasonable to expect that "well, I want to play every thing in every faction, so they have to give me more slots".

Unfortunately, we don't know if a chapter is going to come with a class, or new characters slots, until later in the release cycle. So, for example, we got 3 slots in Elsweyr. If you're like me and like to have things balanced between classes, that would be 3 necromancers. So...I should wait to play a necromancer--a class that came with Elsweyr--for an entire year just to be sure that I have a slot ready for the new tutorial and such in case the next chapter doesn't have slots?
As I've said on this topic previously, all of my characters are individuals. They hold their own gear, are not inventory mules. I even make them earn gold themselves to pay for riding lessons rather than funneling gold from one of my more established characters. People shouldn't have to delete a character to experience the new start in a chapter. And just because YOU are good with your 8 characters doesn't mean that holds true for everyone else. People are limited to playing one character at a time but if they want 8 or 18 or 24 to choose from, why does it bother so many others? If you don't want them, fine.

I want more slots damn it. I make lots of roleplay characters. You don't need to use the slots if you don't want. So stop telling others what to do when it has 0 impact on you. The slot deniers boggle my mind. They're the flat earthers of mmo society.

Who I find kind of stupid, why not not have an continuation of the teaser quest

I have 18 characters, all maxed and geareed up for specific roles with diverse class/role combinations. I play them all. I also do writs on and off. But dont assume that people only use slots to farm writs.

By the same token, game developers shouldn't have to build to accommodate every playstyle. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's impossible to do so. Do I need 3 Necromancers? I don't need one, that's why I don't have the chapter, or the class. It's fine that you want to have them, or feel like you need to have them, but the limitations weren't put in place specifically to prevent it. They exist for all of us, and have existed, except where added to by classes or expansions, or the new leveling system. If you want a slot for a potential new tutorial, yes, you do have to save a slot. What's your alternative? Coming here and insisting that they have to add a new character slot every time you want a new character?

No of course it's not the only reason but farming has an effect on the in-game economy and with more slots you bet people will do it just to farm. I don't think ZOS has a handle on that yet so adding more slots would just make things worse.
Or maybe they don't want people having too many alt mules for inventory so they can push ESO+ double inventory space.
There are all sorts of possible side effects. And with alt slots, once you give them out, you can't really pull back the maximum allowed amount unlike other systems you can tweak. ZOS doesn't like to talk about their internal reasons, so we'll probably never really know if it's just a case of not putting in the work to expand the allowable slots.
We may think that more alt slots are harmless (games like SWTOR let you have 100 per server even, IIRC) but gamers will invariably find a way to exploit it, even if only for seasonal events such as Jubilee.
