Mythic Items - Really worth losing 5+5+2 Bonus ?

    yeah the +25% damage but no crit is a noob trap, the only place it has a niche is in no CP pvp.

    you would have to optimize yourself around not criting, and things like medium armor and class passives kind of have crits factored in. and if you have any amount of CP then its just terrible, getting more specific if your a khajiit you just lost a racial passive.

    you would need to optimize around something like an orc in a heavy armor dps spec, etc.

    that is very specific to make a singular mythic item work.

    but like I said, noob trap.

    im happy nothing is just outright best in slot though, that would be annoying.

    I have my eye on two of them. I often use mismatched monster sets in PVP for the stats, so giving up one is no the end of the world for me. Ring of the Hunt will be a good way to get close to the speed cap for a lot of builds. I also will certainly use it for my crafter/farmer.

    The Thrassian Stranglers will be meta in PVE for certain content. In most 4 man, especially the Arenas, mag DPS will run these. Really good raids will likely take them into certain trials as well I think.

    There are some other useful ones for PVP, just not my playstyle.

    There really should have been a lot more Mythics to created unique builds. Ice Mages, Shock Mages, summoning more Sorc pets (but slightly weaker variants), Converting certain abilities to different damage types, creating more build diversity, etc.

    So much opportunity with Mythics.

    Indeed! When I saw that there were only six I had to do a double-take.

    Coding item sets is one of the easiest tasks in the entire game. They already did the hard part implementing the Antiquities feature itself. Brainstormnig and implementing another ~dozen Mythics would have been like a few days of work for one of the combat team guys and a junior programmer.

    I guess it is build / content dependent.

    Some of those mythic items provide effects that are totally worth it. Snow Treaders for example make you almost 100% passively immune to snare & CC. This is EXTREMELY useful in solo play, both in PvP and in soloing harder PvE content. Imho totally worth it to run 5 + 5 + 1 + 1 with 1 pcs Stonekeeper or Domihaus.

    It’s a strange issue ZOS has. I can understand difficulties of game performance.... but adding in a few sets? That is a very easy process.

    It’s so strange to see them hype up Mythics so much only to have so few of them. It’s the perfect opportunity to create lots of unique, viable builds based on random themes players like. That’s what a lot of games do.

    Its not strange at all. Think about Motifs. Every new Dungeon, DLC and Addon comes with new Motifs, but not all are released at once, the majority of them is released in monthly waves. This would make sense for Mythic items as well. If you would have 10 or 20 Mythics now, ppl would dig them up after 3-4 days and thats it, adding more over time however gets players to always come back to the system.

    The Devs said yes, they have plans to add more items, not only Mythics.

    Be sure that each expansion or important DLC will bring new ones, and I am sure they have designed many more, but they will release them later this year or next year. Getting them is quite grindy though.

    That's an interesting point, but also, the way it is designed is not closed. It's very possible that future dlc zones and chapters will contain new mythic items. The system is extensible.

    I feel like malacaths ring should be nerfed to be honest....otherwise its just new meta for pvp... maybe lower it to 15%

    I believe you get a lot less then 25% when you use stuff like major sorcerery with the band
    not 100% sure but have heard that 'something something modifiers something something lot less'
    And I uhh
    dont really know much about how that internal stuff works
    but
    seen some people complain about it,so it might not be as good as it looks on paper.

    i was wondering that myself, as i wouldn't want to disturb having 2 5-piece bonuses, but a lot of players here are bringing up the fact that you can swap out a 2-piece monster set to make it 1-piece monster and 1-piece mythic, so i think that's a really good option. also, in the event that a 5-piece bonus isn't really that inticing, you could do a swap to make 4-piece set + 1-piece mythic. something to consider.
