So glad they can nerf things so people don't have a chance to have a viable alternative to bow backbar, but can't fix the sets that people have been concerned about since first week of patch (RO, maelstrom inferno and bow, etc, etc, etc).Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
My work here is done

mhh as I can agree on your pvp part, it's still a pretty big letdown from a PvE perspective.
Keeping the 10% and adding conditions like the slayer buff (only works against trial, dungeons monsters) would have been the best solution.
This way the rewards of one of the most difficult PvE content would feel... like a reward ?
I understand, it's annoying to see an interesting pve change get watered down before release, but if it had released as +10%/+10% it would have run riot in PvP in a few months as people picked up on it. At least this way, the new version of +6%/+6% is a bit more viable on a DPS than the old major protection. It's a victim of the combined PvP/PvE balancing
Don't forget they nerfed healing in PvP this patch as well. So that means it's going be harder to stay alive all around.
10% are about as much damage as the vMA bow does in a parse, but you only get these 10% if you are actually within melee range!
This set would not have been broken, it would only have opened up build diversity (which ZOS hates, since they also nerfed the pAS destro when it wasn't overperforming on the two classes it was viable on).

Yes, some classes play in melee range with all melee abilities. That is not hard to do haha. People made this ridiculous argument on the pts too.
