Changes to Queen's Elegance set - why?

Queen's Elegance: This set now causes your Light Attacks to reduce the Health, Magicka, or Stamina cost of your next ability used by 10% and your fully-charged Heavy Attacks to increase the damage of your next Direct Damage attack by 2610, rather than increasing the damage of your Light and Heavy Attacks by 20%.

Looks like this change was inspired by the proposed overhaul to the way light and heavy attacks function that were tested but not implemented in Update 26. But then why keep this change in the patch at all?

Not that I particularly care about the outcome, but yeah, this set looks hand tailored to be used with the old LA/HA revisions. Why is this still on PTS?

Likely because, although the changes aren't happening in U26, some version of them likely will come in, and this particular set doesn't *require* those changes.

I don't see why they need to change it, but hey.

It should be reverted. This is a hold over from the LA/HA changes that were 'supposedly' just a test and not actually going to be part of the game. This tells you that wasn't the plan and although they backed off will probably be rolling them out at some point with some changes.

The set can always be changed at that point imo and as it stands for Greymoor should be reverted. It gives players with HA builds an option to actually build for that playstyle and do some damage.

Or maybe it was to nerf overload sorcs and turned the set into a sustain set which on paper seems really good for sustain

It's an awkward half-way between somebody that light weaves and somebody that uses a heavy build, I even had this golded out for my heavy build but it's going straight in the decon bin if the changes go through.

Yikes. I want to like this, but I'm salty because I had a magblade gank build that used this. This change feels a bit more directed towards PvE, but that might just be me.

This has potential I suppose, but it might be pretty niche

Terrible, just terrible. My main uses this set (I play an alternative build that utilizes light attacks as my main damage output, not a sorc but a templar). It makes my build useless, or at least not viable. Plus without the changes to light and heavy attacks, this is just strictly a nerf to the set.

It's a starter zone set. These changes are not going to be helpful to the lowbies most likely to wear it.

In fact, I recently, about a month ago, finished transmuting my jewelry and staff in this set for my main. That means I wasted a lot of time getting transmutation stones to transmute a set that is now dead (despite it seeming like a fairly benign set that very few people use, and thus didn't warrant a nerf).

This set is getting the "Grundwulf Treatment" an unpopular, niche set coming in for the drive-by nerf from the devs.

Sadly, the best thing that you can do for a set that you love is to obey Fight Club rules (e.g. First Rule is "nobody talks about X set") and keep your head down.

Nothing good ever happens from getting on the itemization team's radar. This set was likely flagged during the LA/HA cycle and, as it always goes, was never able to get off of the list.

Had been using this set before current gear and now it sits idly in my bank, hogging space. Was on fence about keeping it for later use or deconstructing to get at least some mats put into upgrading it back and what do you know - some problems just do solve itselfs.

For the same reason Arch-mage will likely keep its change...

They already moved on to something else and won't waste any more dev time on the patch. It's obvious at this point things are set in stone.

See the problem with that is, while it’s trash now. They’ll randomly take a look at this set and change its entire effect to something else like “doubles the damage of all ultimates, and decreases their cost by 15%” or some crap and you have to farm it all over again because it was UNUSABLE for a time.

This is the Frog boiling slowly...That ill proposed change is going in, over time and piecemeal so you wont even see it and react.

Oh yeah. We all know that. Class rep bologna was a sham. Almost every piece of valid feedback was ignored. Crown store potions and poisons match values of current ones now. Necro is the absolute most p2w, free inv to a raid that I’ve ever seen.

This game is becoming more and more disgusting and I’ve never in my years of playing, seen such heavy handed changes, with such intensity in a game, ever.

This change to elegance was perfect like 8 or 9 patches ago with old destro reach.

On the other hand, I don't see anyone testing it with proc sets

idk, still sounds interesting even if we're keeping the old LA/HA system. I may try to build something around it, seems pretty legit for mag in PVP and PVE situations.

Well, i have all Golden jewelry and weapons for this.. gonna do a bit of trait changing.. and will have a very nasty pvp build incoming later today with Elegance.

I noticed the change one day and was like WTF .

I also golded this set, and still use it because they also changed the stage 4 vampire to increase spells costs by 12%.. Light weaving totally helps my sustain.

Is this set currently broken on live?

I went to mess with this set last night and although the light attack component works well enough the heavy attack part seems completely busted. As in after completing a fully charged heavy attack it grants 0 damage to your next direct damage attack. When it supposed to add 2610 damage or whatever.

Tried it with multiple skills too, a single target direct damage, a aoe direct damage, a heavy attack followed by another heavy. Nothing seemed to make any difference. Has anyone else tried this set and noticed it doesn’t work?

I use the set on my hybrid to replace arch-mage since it can help with sustain on mag and stam, now watch ZOS hone in on the set and nerf it just because I said that...I won't be surprised!

I think a mag dk or bow stamdk can use this set for sustain and heavy atack damage to buff leap. Heavy atack buff is weak but this set looks solid for sustain if you keep atacking with LAs.

Try new undaunthed sets. They are buffed and increase light atack damage a lot. You can use ritual of retiubution or trap the best on mag/stam plar to activate undaunted infilt/weaver set.
