The problem started 4:42 PM GMT (check the first post in this thread) so we can't play for almost 4 hours now.

    Done worry though
As mentioned in the announcement we just put up, we had to bring the EU megaserver down to address the login issues that you all were facing. We'll update the announcement as we receive additional details.

They will update the annoucement as they receive additional details which means in the last 4 hours they still don't have an ETA.

If they don't have an ETA yet they haven't worked out what they need to do to fix the problem as once they know what fix is required they can estimate how long it will take.

As for people that don't care about updates just to let the community know things are progressing an update wont hurt you. While people that would like to see some communication would appreciate it. Therefore it would seem to be the best option. that which benefits some and does not effect others.

Now if the moderation community team were involved in the fix then sure focus on that. But if that is the case its the only MMO I have every heard of where technical staff are paid to keep the community informed as full time moderators.

Sorry for my bad Russian words but... What ***!? You, sorry, have become tired with their sudden maintenance ... in prime time on the weekend ... has finally hire competent professionals, pay them well and let your unfinished project huyaryat nights on weekdays or return all the money and invite everyone back for free when you finally earn everything is fine ...

Personally I feel confident in interpreting no news/update as 'We're still working on it and have no updates to tell you yet' rather than 'We're all gone home and left you all hanging Muahahaha'. When there is something new to tell I'm sure they will tell us. I don't need regular 'No news yet' updates, what a waste of time.

I don't need meaningless updates that tell me no new info - happy to assume they are still busy - they will be wanting the servers up as desperately as we all do too, believe it or not.

You may be happy for that but I personally am not, its bad customer service. Communication is key. If a Service Company doesn’t understand that......

I think the main issue here, if you can sift through all the ranting is that most people are time poor and what little free time they do have they don’t like to waste. Hence the general feeling of dissatisfaction here.

Yet again though theres a complete lack of updates, so then you have threads from people asking of they should just go down the Pub, now if there were updates he could have made an informed choice, however seeing as we dont know how bad things are the Servers may be back up in five minutes or it may be tomorrow.

So I will ask how many people here have been hanging around checking the forums on the off chance?
Now how many of you could have been doing something else?
    Exactly.

This is why communicating to your customer base is a corner stone of good business.

Well this is why 90% of people who rage here should stay away from MMO launches for the first month or so. I've never been able to work out why people buy 0-day MMOs and the rage when the server goes off. Do you really think Zenimax has a real life sheogorath that say "Hey, let's shake things up and have some fun at EU prime time"!

I do hope they give us all a day or 2 extension on our game time...i mean since we kinda did pay for a working game they must have budgeted on giving a few days free to the subscribers for errors they knew would come up, so its not too much to ask, its only another issue out of the many and that during prime time on a saturday...

Oh and the whole no news is good news is just BS...no news means "we dont know what we doing but hope when we cut the blue wire it will work again" we would like feedback please and more regularly, im sure they can spare the only secretary they have to send us a BS little text here to reassure and make up some lame excuse as to why the game fell over... just a though :disagree:

You just pop in here without even the sligthest hint at an apology to tell us the server "might" be up if nothing is found?
Dude, let me tell you this, first thing you gotta do is apologize to the hundreds of thousands of players who have been somewhat patiently waiting to play because you guys screwed up, again.

    Hey everyone,

Quick update, the european megaserver is now up for internal tests and will be available again within the next 45 minutes if nothing is found.

Can you please explain what has taken 4 hour to fix and 45 minutes of further test?

Is it just the log in server that is now taking 45 mins minutes to test? It seems unlikely, are their patch updates, quest fixes, bug fixes?

So far the players reported login issues, to which the mods reply its only some people. Then the server is brought down. Told nothing and no ETA. Then Told at least 2 hours more information in coming. 4 Hours in told that going to internal testing would have been nice to have been given the heads up early that the servers would be down for 5 hours. Crazy talk I know.

And with the announcement might be up in 45 mins or so depending on what is found we are none the wiser about why the servers were brought down. Or even that Zenimax has taken note that people weren't happy.

Is this the official line, as little communication as possible with no explanations and the customer base is to be ignored. Or is 5 hours down time on a Saturday night an issue that isn't desirable and effected players have a legitimate grievance.

It's the same with music software, v1 is usually riddled with bugs, gets patched, something else breaks. I'm used to it by now :)
