The long time that it takes to capture a keep encourages faction stacking and lag

LoveForElderScrolls
It takes a lot of time to siege a keep and bring the walls/doors down if the number of players sieging that keep is few so people prefer to faction stack in big numbers for capturing a keep and that is often the emperor keeps which causes lag and disconnects. Originally the wall/doors were upgraded so if you take all resources around a keep then it would be easier to siege the keep but that doesn't happen often.

So what are you suggesting then? Weaken the keeps even more so people can PvDoor at a faster pace? Removing all the keep doors entirely?

Personally I think sieging keeps is way too easy as it is. It's a fortified castle for gods sake, it should be difficult and require a good deal of firepower and cooperation to take it. That three dudes on a ram can randomly stroll up to a keep and take it in <10 minutes is already absurd.

Of course, this would also encourage/require more huge groups, which would probably cause the servers to spontaneously combust.

I agree with you, groups of 3-5 probably shouldnt be able to do that in 10 mins.

Maybe adding more health to the doors, not double but 50% more maybe. Just for the added time, and add NPC's that run siege on each keep. 2 on ballistas, and 1 dropping an oil pot.

Again it would probably cause more zerging, so I am not sure there is a win win here.

I agree with you I would perfer stronger keeps and also revert oils and sieges damage back to when they were actually dangerous to players. That was probably when pvp was the best was when they accidentally over powered siege

I think this is largely because players do not siege--speaking from the DC perspective, it's normal to have 10+ people around a keep/outpost and only 1-2 sieges, and then of course reinforcements arrive and then it's too late/too diffucult to capture the keep. I don't know if it's new players who don't know how to siege, or players who only care about AP and not the map, and just prefer to pick off enemies outside keeps without actually siegeing, or just stingy/bored players who think someone else will do the thing, but it's such a common sight nowdays and it's so frustrating. I think with effective sieging taking keeps doesn't require a long time, unless it's one of those fights that evolve into faction-stack versus faction-stack, and then yeah, it can be a while. As for the lag, I don't think even paper-thin keep walls could help the state of the servers... I was in the middle of nowhere in Cyrodiil the other day, getting a skyshard, and I coudln't use any of my skills against NPCs...
