so you got your greymoor expac refunded because you won't have penetration on a vma staff you probably wouldnt have used anyway?
They'll be an option in the cash shop for you to upgrade your weapons.

TBH I’m not even annoyed by the lack of vMA and vDSA upgrades, I saw that one coming a long time ago. For me it’s a combination of:
- Game performance, on live and PTS (ping spikes, desyncs, skills failing, crashes)
- Lack of communication
- Terrible trial sets, no incentive to run Kyne’s Aegis
- Broken mechanics and lack of telegraphs in vKA (what’s the point of the custom colors setting when most of the mechanics don’t use them)
For the arena weapons, I’d gladly earn a few upgrades by repeating old content, but the changes have made most of them trash now anyway. Spell Pen on Perf vMA Destro is just stupid. Master Destro change removed its niche use. BRP Destro has always been trash because of the DoT refreshing without ticking. And Perf Asylum Destro is now as bad as the non-Perf has always been. Anyone else noticing a pattern of which weapons are bad?
Thanks for the tip OP.
Sent refund request.

I had pre-ordered Greymoore before the announcement of ZOS's absurd decision to not retroactively upgrade vMA and vDSA weapons. Not only is this virtually unprecedented in the history of MMOs (at least in my 23 year history of playing ~11 MMOs) it's a slap in the face to veteran players who have already spent hours and hours grinding that content.

What MMORPGs?
Heck, the MMORPGs that I have played, when they add something new like this perfected vMA weapon I have always had to farm it. Heck, many MMORPGs make you reform all your gear once every year or two.

Glad you got a refund if you are no longer interested in it. As I have said before, only serious raiders need to buy Greymoor from the start. The rest can wait for it to become a DLC.

The ESO player base got used to the convenience that re-farming everything or important items like the old weapons isn't required.
Now it is basically adds this option when the weapons will not be upgraded.
I won't be entirely surprised if the new system which will replace the champion system will require farming, like new max level 83(example).

That is not it at all, and it's disingenuous and/or dishonest to pretend it is about that. The fact is that they're introducing pseudo-new gear (pseudo because VMA/VDSA weapons already used to have additional bonuses that were taken away) to old content. Most complaints have hung on the fact that ZOS expect players to re-do something they've already done. That is certainly not my experience in any other MMO. New items come with new content, not as carrots on a stick to keep running 5-year-old content.
Add to that the fact that they are putting the same weapons that used to take a vet run to get on normal, and I think players taking offence is plenty justified. I have zero issues with normal runs dropping some sort of better rewards. But does it have to devalue the effort I put in to do vet runs? Granting current maelstrom/master weapons the perfected bonus would preserve their value in this sense, and I personally would have zero complaints about people still being able to get normal versions in normal runs.

I thought I was stuck with a $40 expansion I'd never play but I was pleasantly surprised when Steam refunded my payment!
Here's how to do it:
Open Steam and click the down arrow next to your name on the upper right side of the window.
Select "account details"
Select "View purchase history" in the Store and Purchase History section.
Find your purchase of Greymoore and click it.
Select "I would like a refund"
NOTE: Steam will say they don't refund purchases over 30 days but it will still let you request one. I selected "other" as the reason and wrote in "Developer made changes to the game I disagree with after my purchase of the DLC. The DLC has not been released yet so I have not played it."
It took less than 12 hours to get my refund!

Why do you need this excuse to refund? There's a *** ton of issues with this game, and the fact that arena weapons are now being handed out casuals is what pisses you off? LMAO. Waaa I must farm the version that makes 1% difference!

Which isn't the point at all.

Maybe, maybe not. But that's what the optics look like. ZOS makes a change that adds very slightly upgraded rewards to some existing content and you start demanding refunds because they're not just handing these rewards to you? You've got a serious uphill battle in trying to make that not look like pure childish selfishness.

WoW and any game that raises a level cap does that so it's fairly common to do.
