nah the actual launch and lag have been great. some of the later bugs - not so much.

First MMO I was able to log right into and play on day one - they delivered. I'm not forgiving them for all the other issues not by a long shot but this thread is silly.

    And furthermore:
North America is fully operational and our European datacenter will be soon, but we have found during our beta tests that the location of these servers is not going to affect the gameplay experience. Our testing has now confirmed that millions of players from Europe (and beyond) can play on our North American server and experience ESO as it was designed—without latency or lag problems.

Strange how some Australian players claim to have latency issues when ZO have completely eliminated lag from their system. Somebody is lying here... my bet is on the Australians.

Overall it's been a pretty good launch. I've had many issues but its been pretty good. I wouldnt say that statement is true but its pretty close. I can't wait until next month then hopefully once all the rage quitting is over, we will get down to playing lag free :)

Well to be honest, the initial 5-day early access was indeed very smooth. Once the masses came in though things changed somewhat :P

I did not get to play at launch SINCE I "PREORDERED". I have not hardly played since my "PREORDER" did not come in until a week after launch and ZOS blocked my account until my "PREORDER" came in. I still have 2 active accounts I need to cancel before the free 30 days is up. The other 3 Imperial "PREORDERS" I never did put in credit card info.

Does anyone remember that MMO where the GM said that :
"We will make sure that no matter where you live, every player in North America, Europe, Oceania, and many places beyond will have really buggy and laggy experience."
No, I don't remember that either.

You must not play at the same times I do. Lag was here the first day of pre-launch. Gated quests and duping bugs were in from day 1. That is not a "polished" launch experience.

Lag isn't even an issue in this game. Is this your first MMO at launch? Because I would have killed for the servers to run like this during the first week of WoW.

If you play during peak hours there is lag, no question. So much lag that it has taken the servers offline several times.

This guy made a stupid brag/comment and now you won't be hearing from him about it.

In my experience, he was spot on. Spooky.

If you have lag issues it is probably on your end, or the route your packs are taking to reach the game server. There are a number of nodes between you and the game server, for sure. Zenimax can not control the route your computer takes as it travels the inter-tubes......

My game experience has been very good to this point.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't even know of any of these problems or even think twice of the lag that I encounter if not for the forums with all the people complaining about launch bugs.

Effectively, except when the launcher went fubar and the server went down, I have had a very smooth playing experience. And I personally only encountered one uncompilable quests, that has since been fixed.

The only real problems I have encountered ingame is botting/bot camping and gold sellers.

I don't know about the dupe bug being used from day one I know it was a few days before it was caught and was even reported then (which is inexcusable). I can assure you I have pretty much no life and played almost 20 hours a day during release the chances we weren't playing at the same time is very very slim. All I remember hearing on the release days was (wow this is smooth I can't believe there is barely any lag!)

then of course later on you have people stuck on main quests for days and can't open veteran ranks. I am not an apologist but I do believe in being honest and not exaggerating.

I do not seem to experience lag either, and I have a pretty terrible connexion.
"In 2014, a possible bot was sent to coldharbour by a military GM for a crime she didn't commit. This argonian promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Ebonheart underground. Today, still wanted by the developers she survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a bot problem, if no one else can bite you, and if you can find her....maybe you can hire The SQUISHY."

I have had zero issues since launch, no lag, and not one bugged quest; so, they've provided exactly what they said they would as far as I'm concerned.

Been down a couple of hours, is there any update on the ETA when the server might go back up.

I know its cool to mock people that mention compensation and its like a fraction of a buck for the down time. But is there any chance that the levels of down time can be acknowledged by the development or community team.

Is the official line as many are humorously depicting F**K YOU players, don't like it then F**K right off. We don't see any problem with down time at and will bring the serves down at least once a day. Or is this considered to be a poor level of service that customers shouldn't come to expect and something that affected players should feel rightly annoyed at.

In my experience MMO's seldom change before its too late. A team with a proven track record of ignoring players don't suddenly change. They only change when the dump a New Player Experience on the player base and then watch flood gates open as people flee the drowning ship.

you have to remember new servers every month Microsoft does a update then everyone follows suit so more fixing/patching game is new all games even after 6 months still have problems some take years to fix and some have to have work arounds , just have to be patient

Well, as we all know, Australia is populated entirely by criminals, so... yup. :D

Seriously, though, I'm in Canada and I've been playing every day since launch. There was one day when I experienced serious loading lag issues, although there wasn't any gameplay lag that day. There was another time when I experienced gameplay lag, but when I signed out and signed back in it was gone.

I expect that those of us in the US and Canada would be less likely to experience lag than people in any other part of the world, though. At least until the European mega-server is actually moved to Europe - then people in Europe will probably have the same experience as us.

Live in Norway, and my latency has been around 100-150ms..When playing other games with EU servers i'm at around 40-50ms, but to be honest i haven't really noticed any lag..This isn't a "twitch" game. The only issue i've so far is 2-3 quests that blocked my progression, they were fixed litterally hours after i encountered the bugs..for which i am content.

What i do NOT like, is that they take down the servers during EU prime time. Several nights without playing is starting to get a bit annoying. They need to hire an EU patch team to do stuff between midnight and 6. am. 30 days of Free game time isn't true when you're unable to login during prime time in the EU
