✭✭✭And people still wonder why they don't give a specific "maintenance will be done at X" very often.... Any/every time they do, and it goes over their estimate even by seconds, people start whining.2 -

Fusiondk✭✭I mean - The torches and pitchforks might go away if there was a little more transparency like a banner that says: Maintenance is extended until X, like most games do, but instead a banner will pop up at 4:49 pm saying they're sorry for the delay servers will be live at 4:50 pm.
It's the fact that those are trying to get on have no information. People suggest "Just go do something else" and that's not really the point. When I go to a store and find they are closed I imagine I do what any person might do and look at hours of operation to find what I would go do in it's stead and return when it's opened.
Oh snap sorry common sense kicked it, I will take my stupid pill and carry on for the remainder of my day.3 -

Depends on the game. I played GW2 for years without a single downtime. Everything happens while they keep their servers up.2 -

We already know the two servers react differently on patches from pts, (H.A.L You there?!? ) and usually needs at east one emergency fix, just put the coffee over and get yer beer

Agreed. Though a little more transparency would be nice.
Or at least overestimate their ability to maintenance. If they didn't give a 4 hour timeframe, they would be good. Better to say 8 hours and make it 6, than 4 hours and make it 61 -

✭There is a possible event being announced at 1030 am on the Bethesda YouTube. Not a normal maintenance as it’s outside the standard day and all servers are being simultaneously hit.1 -

Yup they do and a lot of people that never beta test stuff don't know this. When I played Everquest I beta tested raids way back when they were still SOE, was just a perk of being in one of the top raiding guilds, but the coding on the test servers is different from the coding on live servers, people don't realize that and think its just a matter of copy and paste from pts to live and everything will magically work.1 -
