✭✭✭✭✭if you want just a limited amount of additional space - make a guild during the free ESO trial weekend and invite as many newbies as you can - after the weekend most of them will not be there anymore - but you have now a guild bank of your own.
I feel like doing that is misleading and using people.
Established players shouldn't have to use new players, just to get some more storage space.

Well, it happens anyway - i didn't create the guild which I inherited - this was a newbie guild during a trial phase - and none of them is left but me - and the guild owner has given it to me before he stopped playing as well. And I bet a lot of people who have "private" guilds got to them in a similar way. No one is used by this - the trial time is far too short for that.0 -

This is perfectly accurate, and even more so on the console. Just make 10 free gamertags, invite them to a guild and you get 500 spaces. This is exactly what Zenimax is looking for.... Number of players. That number that they flash around and boast about, the 11,000,000 players; I would bet that more than 90% of those "players" are inactive accounts, alt accounts, and more importantly bots. They care about player turnaround. Player joins, buys from the crown store to try and catch up, or buys motifs, dlc , expansion, whatever ... then they leave, quit or are pushed away by the unending failed updates, changes and lack of tos enforcement. Think of it like a store with a turnstile, they count the people coming in, some buy things, some don't, some shop there regularly, most of them never come back because they don't like the product or the quality... but the number presented to the public, board, and quarterly meetings, is the number on that machine showing the traffic through the door. Use the Retrieve option in the Housing Editor.
...but then, of course, you have to remember the name of the thing you are looking for and/or its category and sometimes the latter isn't the one you would think it would be in.
Not to mention, if you have several store houses, you may forget which one it is in.
You can try to categorise each one, so you only store certain items in each house.
However, when you are in a rush, trying to dump all the items in your inv so you can join a dungeon, or whatever, it's likely you will just have to dump them all in one place.

Well, the original guild owner didn't create it for this purpose - but he expected that at least a few of those more than 100 people he invited would stay - but in the end it was just me and him - and he was just disappointed that basically 99% of those he invited didn't stay with the game - the trial phase is far too short, ZOS is creating numbers with it, but not necessarily a lot of players who stick with the game. A more generous trial phase - like 14 or 30 days - would eventually help with it and then the guild would eventually have had a purpose - but so it's only purpose left is to be a private guild.0 -

Well, in your case/the case of the former guild leader, from what you say, the new players weren't used.
However, you are now advising people to, intentionally, invite new players to a fake guild, just to create some private inv space for the owner, alone.
That is encouraging people to use new players.
I'm not blaming you - you are held hostage by the game design as much as anyone else is - I'm just saying this is not a satisfactory solution.
It's a poor workaround.
ZOS should provide a proper solution and not force people to do this to themselves, or to new players.0 -

✭✭✭I could see creating a guild during that time and offering them 5K per week for being a member.
I am not sure how much it costs to build up storage space though and how many people you have to have active, but that way you could note it was a temp guild that pays members in game gold to try it out. Less deception.
But the need for that sounds very deceptive, even though it is very tempting.PC

Agreed. I always go and take the materials....and no, you can't sell surveys and destroying them is very wasteful.
But... it IS a possible choice for those who choose to see a survey as some annoying chore rather then an opportunity for a fun gathering trip, so there is that, yes?

A honest solution would be to make an option for a crown unlock to the guild bank. I for one would rather pay for my tiny "circle of friends" guild to have a bank rather then invite strangers who are not my friends (and I don't have friends to invite at this point to get to the needed minimum numbers the proper way).
And I also really think it would be a nifty thing to add options for guilds to expand the guild bank through guild projects that need loads of basic resources so that all members can pitch in and then enjoy the increased effectiveness... and maybe not just banks, but other guild perks as well. Would give people something to strive towards anyhow, upgrading their guild...
Not that I'd see it as extra storage space for myself - I'd dump all my duplicates there for those friends to pick what they could use; its not the "mine!" thought that keeps me from throwing things out, its the "someone could still use this..." thought (and yes, I am the same IRL - comes from growing up in a family where the money always ended before the month, and we really had to get all possible use out of everything. I am no happy that this is no longer the case, as spoiled milk pancakes taste yucky...)
But hey, who knows?
Maybe in due time, the people at ZOS will listen and do think about some sort of expanded furniture storage... and maybe take another look at guild services as well.1
