I keep seeing people say Mythic items won’t be worth it because you’d need to give up a 5-piece bonus to run it. But this just isn’t true.
You can instead essentially run a Mythic item instead of the 2-piece bonus on a monster mask. This will be a significant upgrade to quite a lot of builds, since the bonus from Mythic items will often be stronger than a 2-piece monster set bonus—particularly given nerfs to several of the most powerful monster sets.
And doing that comes with another big potential benefit: You can then pick and choose exactly what 1pc monster set bonus you want. So, for example, this would allow one to choose the Max Mag + Max Stam on Domihaus on any build with a Mythic item. Or you could pick some other bonus you want even more—perhaps a penetration or spell/weapon damage bonus. The point is basically that you can think of Mythic items as allowing you to essentially construct the equivalent of a personalized monster set: Choose the Mythic item bonus you want, and then choose the one-piece monster set bonus that is best for your build. So, even leaving aside that Mythic item bonuses will be stronger than monster set two-piece bonuses for a lot of builds, the ability to choose the 1-piece bonus—as opposed to being stuck with whatever one-piece bonus is attached to the two-piece bonus you want—is a significant plus.
So you do not need to give up a 5-piece bonus to run a Mythic item. You can/should run two 5-piece sets, one Mythic item, and one monster set piece.
