Crash after crash trying to do the tutorial

I think I'm up to seven crashes now trying to complete the tutorial. My internet speed is at 450 mg/s on average with 24 latency. Between each crash I check it. I've got top speeds there, a nice computer with a great graphics card. Everything on my end is fine.

Why can't I play this game anymore? This happens to me on my Live PC account and my PS4 account. Crash after crash when I am just trying to do writs and do the guild store. I delete addons, and have no luck. I have zero addons on the PTS. It took four times logging on to get through the first tutorial fight!

On crash 11, I finally got a crash reporter dialogue. On 12, I didn't. Let's see if I can get up the hill to Solitude.

A good long stretch there, following the main quest. However when finally I stood at the gates of Solitude and tried to open them, crash. And trying to log back in, I got to character select, hit play, and... Crash number 15.

I made it through the town to the Blue Palace for Ctash 16. On reentry, I'm back near the gates.

On crash 18, I made it to the Bards College, and on reentry I was still there. On crash 19, I'd made it into the Blue Palace. Crash 20 didn't even get me back into the game. But I'm in now at the spot I was before (Lyris talking to Queen). I'm trying to play along, Lyris!

My second crash was while standing at the solitude Docks Wayshrine, after making a template character and gearing it with stuff from the boxes. Logged back in to find all of that gear vanished from inventory except the robe and legs. Sure I could delete the character and start over, but it'll probably just happen again. Might try to actually test stuff if there's a patch at some point.

Ok, I had no crash issues doing my daily chores on Live PC and PS4 this morning, so let's see if PTS has calmed down too.

Well, I finally did crash, but it took a while. I was able to advance into the second main quest pretty far. I boomeranged back a bit, but not too far.

@BoloBoffin you have a really outstanding patience! I gave up at the 4th crash.
I'll try again when when the novelty frenzy will go down somehow

I figured that's the price of admission on the PTS. It was a lot better today.

I'm able to sign in ok, When I start to play the game I get kicked from the server every 2-3mins, Heads gone now, off until tomorrow, may be I can play as normal.

And here I am again!

This morning I got stuck trying to complete a portion of the main quest in Solitude. You are going back to report on an issue, and then you deal with a situation there and go interview witnesses. The first time I was talking to the daughter of the Jarl and crashed. When I came back, I had boomeranged back to where you enter the Blue Palace again. That was last night and I logged off at that point. I came back this morning, got all the way in, did everything there, and then worked through Solitude interviewing witnesses all the way to the gate. I left Solitude by the gate, then got on my horse to ride to the next location. As I went through the final gateway to see the whole vista, crash.

And when I got back, I had boomeranged back to the spot where you enter the Blue Palace again. Oh, boy. I ran through it all, got to the Solitude gate, logged out, then logged back in, and I was in the place I expected to be: at the Solitude gate. I left and didn't have any crashing problems after that.

This evening however, I find myself stuck at the Morthal Barrow. Four times I have tried to enter and four times I have been kicked to the login screen. Each time I come back, there's an NPC that starts the "approaching the Morthal Barrow" dialogue again. But each time I try to go in, crash. I don't boomerang in location, however. I'm still down by the barrow door, not outside the mound where the NPCs are.

And there's a fair bit of story line between those two crashing points. I made it all the way through the first big swing through Blackreach! Also, kudos for the Hooded Figure showing up as soon as I hit level 10 on the brand new character I'm using to play through the main quest. That was very aggressive and abrupt, and it should be.

No, I tried logging out completely and restarting the launcher. I saved after doing the dialogue up top and then relogged in. I can't get into the Morthal Barrow door. I guess them vampires win this one. Shame. ;0)

Came back just now. Crash at the door. This time I log back in and said, nah, gonna try something else.

Labyrinthian is right there at the barrow. So I trot over to it. I pick up the main quest and try to get in. I get in! Someone (a certain Cro-Magnon at 810 CP graciously picks up my level 10 character and zooms me through the whole dungeon. We kill bosses... He kills bosses while I halp. I exit Labyrinthian no problem, and conclude the quest. I pull up my Khajiit merchant, sell stuff off, equip with stuff I got now, and say, ok, let's try the Morthal Barrow again!

Crash.

So I try a couple of things.

First, I reboot the entire computer. I relaunch PTS and log into the low level character. I try to get into Morthal Barrow. Crash.

Then I think, hey, what if it's something to do with the Main Quest getting added? So I port to Daggerfall (via my room in the Rosy Lion) and then scurry up to the house with the Benefactor. Mannimarco takes me out, no problem. I race through the Wailing Prison, no issues. Prophet free, escape effected. I finish out the quest, ignore the starter quest at Stros M'Kai, and run to port back to Morthal. I run up to the Morthal Barrow, talk to the patient though repetitive lieutenant, and run down to the door....

Crash.

PTS is currently experiencing huge lag spikes, probably due to overload from testers.
Either that, or DDOS from detractors, hehe.

But I can go do other things in-game just fine! I'm going to try abandoning the main quest and starting it again. If it doesn't work this time, I'm going to bed.

It wasn't too far back in the storyline. But once again I crashed trying to enter the barrow. Lucky me! Good night.

That is what PTS is all about - fixing what's still broken. The deal with getting the content early is that a) it doesn't actually count for your stuff and b) you deal with the bugs.
