Just realised; We aren't getting the normal crate like normal, but the preview crate:
Which gives this little guy as a pet:
Anyways, I just don't know why they did this instead of letting us experience the full RNG of just getting potions and no mounts/pets.

✭✭✭✭✭At that point, they might as well have just given people a pet, but I suppose it may be a random pet which gives them the opportunity to sell you the one you actually wanted later on.
It also gives "weighted" rewards compared to standard crates without actually rigging a standard crate to give a pet (which would receive massive backlash). Players that are more casual or not paying attention will think they got a "real" crate with a pet and set that as an anchor for expectations when they get future crates.1
