the game is not a real life for sure

but don't forger that the game is a PART of your real life

i usually don't care of what some people that i don't know are saying to me

i mean some hate whispers or something like that can't hurt me at all

on other hand the ones who f up something while saying "relax it is just a game"

really makes me mad because even if it is a game it is still my time

and part of my life that they have just wasted

So you logged into eso and started talking about another game? On zone chat? Why?

Since I can’t use skills due to lag sometimes I like to try and start a conversation in zone. Something other than the toxicity that has become this community. My bad.

Starting a conversation is completely fine. If you started talking about your vacation plans, you would likely not get any rude responses.

Starting to promote another game in general chat, however, is generally frowned upon, and considered trolling. It is like kicking a beehive and then telling the bees "you just need to relax". That is what i am trying to tell you here.

I think what OP is doing is telling people not to overreact on stupid stuff, like people getting mad at someone "promoting" another game. There is a part of me that finds trash talk very entertaining but even I know that being angry at people over stupid things is petty. Though I do likewise hope more people would learn to ignore stupid comments as well. As in, dont get rude to people over stupid crap and ignore those that do.

It is all in the context. Asking the same question publicly while you are at a hairdresser having a chat would not be frowned upon. But doing so in the general chat inside another game? You are basically waving a red cloth at a bull.

Nope. That is ridiculous. It’s only a select few that get upset when I talk about anything besides their precious eso. So I feel sorry for those people.

Hey sharee I appreciate you trying to explain it to me. However, I know why people do it, my point is they need to relax there is more important things than eso.

Now these people don’t bother man, rather I feel sorry for them. This post is to just remind everyone that this is a game. This is not real life. You don’t need to threaten, Harass, and curse other players out. It’s not that serious everyone. Remember why YOU play. It’s to have fun. Remember that before you start venting to someone.

Also. Just because people in zone say things they disagree with or don’t like about the game, doesn’t give cause for you to label them as trolls.

So in real life you do threaten, harass and curse people? alright.

No, it is not. The owners of the game, the servers that it runs on allows for conversation of other games to occur within the game. To clarify for the nitpickers, they do not forbid as a breech as a term of service. What they do forbid and will take corrective action for is cursing, insulting, and harassing players for any reason.

As such it does not matter if someone’s entire world and self-identity is based around Elder Scrolls being the greatest game on the face of the earth and sends them into blind rage to read text on a screen saying another game is better, may do other things better.

Now what about the those who are unable to express their emotions in a civilized way and when upset must resort to yelling, screaming, and or rants which break the terms of service? Like the Die Hard video posted in the thread that is where the police (moderators) come in and take action.

    I understood your post.

As for whether you creating this thread and replying to other posts in the thread makes what you said any less true? Well. There's usually more to the story with these kinds of posts. The tone of the thread and the tone of your replies to other people's posts suggests maybe there's more to this story as well.

Is ESO only a game? Sure. Do people need you to tell them to relax? No, not really. This thread is a duplicate of many other threads that are all equally unproductive and don't really do anything for this community.

I had a similar experience when questing in Coldharbor.

Another player was doing the same main quest as I was. We happened to be on the same path to the next NPC. So, I fight things along the way as I go, but it annoyed him because he didn't do enough damage to get the kills. He told me "can you *** off"... Honestly, it ticks me off seeing such toxicity in this beautiful game. But I just let it go.

I think you should just ignore people who give you a bad time. They're not worth the attention. I agree, though, some players need to chill.

I tend to hang back if someone with a lot more levels/CP than I have is apparently on the same quest I am. I'm.... hmm - I guess I'd say not all that invested in killing - I'm happy to wait for whatever to respawn so I can kill it myself; though of course there's a point at which if there are a bajillion others in the zone doing the same quest, eventually I'm just going to say screw it....

And since I have run into people who were absolutely nasty about me doing my little bit to kill a mob they were fighting, I have since just stayed back far enough to hopefully not cause them any angst while also not being considered to be leeching. It's a fine line - and I'm not at all sure I have perfected it....

As for ignoring people who give me a bad time.... heh. Been there still doing that - I learned my way around in WoW and RIFT. ESO really isn't as bad as those games were back when I played.

I found it productive. I got the message to people that read this that this is only a game, we are here to have fun. And the my tone is neutral, if you think this is unproductive then you shouldn’t have wrote a response. You could have kept on moving.

I stand by my post. I don’t need explanations, criticism, or anything of the like. All I was saying was simple. This is a game. Relax. Have fun.

Honestly, feel sorry for the person who flipped out because they lost a duel. Think about it for a moment and it should be obvious their life has to be pretty pathetic and there are a lot like that in PvP.

OMG, I laugh at the hate whispers in PvP, but never reply. Not replying gets them even more upset which is hilarious. It is almost like their head is about to explode with the frustration.

Sorry mate but showing up to duel in a stalemate (tank) build IS a troll thing to do as it wastes your opponents time.

Doesn't that depend on whether the person with the tank build asked them to duel, or the other way around?

If someone else invites the tank to duel and they accept, that's down to the inviter, not the tank.
