Countdownical✭✭✭Yeh I agree with @kadochka . This issue is still persistant. Many still have the issue that they can't gift the DLC-pack to someone if they already own Imperial City, or any other of the DLCs included in the pack.

The G&G DLC pack by itself is a great price, even if you're only missing one DLC! (I'm missing Wrothgar, and I'd save 1k crowns if I were to buy the pack myself.) Really hope the gifting bug will be fixed, and soon.. ✭✭✭Customer Service was STILL NOT AWARE of the issue when Collector's Murkmire was available.
My friend was trying to gift it to me, but could not even buy it because I had the regular Murkmire.
However, customer service was under the impression that they had to buy the item first then try to send it to me.

"We did some digging into the account, and can see that the gift wasn't sent out for you. In order to clear this up, we will have to send this up to a specialized team to review, but we won't be able to disclose information to you about your friends account."

HumbleThaumaturge✭✭✭✭What a pity: I tried to "gift" the 4-DLC mega-pack to my sister today. (Currently on-sale for 50% off.) Even though she only has the Imperial City DLC (which was free during Imperial City event last year), I could not "gift" the 4-DLC mega-pack, getting the error message "player already owns this collectible." I wonder how many Crown Store sales have been lost because of this issue?2

✭✭I’m not sure why you are thanking Gina as her reply was on January 8th and they still have not done anything about the gifting or purchase problem. One of my fellow guildies received the Imperial City DLC’s as a freebie but still wants to purchase the pack because it’s still cheaper than buying each of the others individually. However with this issue, cannot do so.

There is a check to determine whether the purchaser already owns the item... that makes sense
However, the response should not be to prevent the purchase. Instead there should be some kind of confirmation process that make the purchaser aware that some/all of the material is already owned, and requires them to do something (eg type CONFIRM) to authorise they wish to continue the purchase....
ZOS makes money and customers get what they want with little chance of accidentally purchasing something they didn’t actually want.

I see that Gina's post was on January 8th, so this has been in the works for a little while now and I can't expect that it will be resolved before the sale ends. So how do I get a rain check on the current 50% off sale for when this issue ultimately gets resolved?
Is there no other possible work around for this other than waiting for development? Since this is obviously a lengthy process, it seems like support should somehow be empowered to assist customers with this. Remove 2,000 crowns from the gifting account and turn on the DLCs for the recipient account.
I guess, like so many, I am just frustrated at the inability to do something that seems like it should be so simple. I have the crowns. I paid real money for them. I cannot spend them. This issue has been known and worked on for over two months.
There comes a time when the sledge hammer approach is appropriate until the elegant solution can be attained.

I believe it is now possible (if it wasn't previously) to purchase the bundle for yourself... at least it seemed like it would have allowed me to purchase it for myself giving me a warning that I already own a portion of the bundle and I would still need to pay the full price regardless.
The issue I am having at this point is with GIFTING the bundle. Perhaps the original issue was with purchasing for yourself and that has since been resolved, but the gifting issue still exists?
Just pointing out that if it was possible to gift crowns (I'm not sure why you can't do that), and you can now purchase the bundle for yourself despite owning part of it, then this would be a very simple solution. I realize that a concern might be that players would gift crowns for the purchase of an item and ultimately the crowns are used for something unintended, but that is at least a risk you are aware of when you gift the crowns... proceed at your own risk. Although, more likely the potential issue is with somebody hacking your account being able to transfer not only items and gold, but crowns as well... not that they couldn't just gift themselves crown items instead of straight up crowns though...0 -

Actually, I wonder what is really causing the problem... When I try to gift the bundle, it doesn't say "recipient already owns that DLC", it says "the recipient already owns that collectible"... so I wonder if the issue is related to a specific collectible that is tied to one of the DLCs. For instance, when you get the Imperial City for free, you also get the white horse with it. So it could be an issue where it can't give you that horse again when you already have it... I mean it could be any "collectible", I'm just making a point.

Sorry, when I purchased Imperial City when it first became available, the Any Race Any Alliance was part of that bundle. I guess they've separated them out now.1 -
