Account doesn't exist somehow

So I just returned from a nine month deployment with the US Navy and looked forward to starting to play. I had my wife pre-order the game for me so that I could have all the bells and whistles. She registered it in my name with my email address. Now the site is telling me that that account doesn't exist and your spport tab comes back with an error. Any help would be much appreciated.

    I actually think that the support sight is down, so that may also be affecting your ability to recover your account.

    Yes the Help portal was down and is now officially back up again according to:(http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/81570/notice-the-help-portal-is-offline#latest) but I'm getting an error too when I try to access it right now.

    @Navyjam Once it's back up, submitting a help request there is your best bet of recovering your account.

    I can't help, but just wanted to say that your wife sounds like a complete star buying you a game that will fill up your leisure time when you are already away from her so often. My husband is like that, very generous and good-natured. +1 for good spouses, don't forget to show your appreciation :)

    You might want to give customer support a call at 1.855.296.3170.

    A friend of mine had a similar issue; whenever she tried to log in to the website, she would receive error messages about username/password not being found.

    She tried going through the password reset and forgotten account name options, but nothing worked. Even after being provided with a new password and verification emails, the issue remained. It was like the account never existed.


    Turns out Zenimax had made some mistakes and her account wasn't actually valid for use. It was a PTS-only account and should never have been accessible from the website (their words).

    She had to make a new account.

    Your best bet is to call the number above. Good luck.
