Hugely impressed that these light and heavy changes were tested outside PTS, not considered ultimately to be ready, and not implemented as a result. Feels like a really positive move in terms of how testing is done, even if the specific changes proposed didn't progress.
They actually listened.... To be honest I'm amazed and now I see what they're finally getting at. Announce these sorts of changes on the PTS, let the players throw themselves at it to try and break it, look at their reactions after having tested it, and then make the call whether to keep the idea or not.
I hope they do more stuff like this in the future and I'm curious how they'll do the vampire rework after seeing the current feedback, and of course after players have gotten their hands on it in the PTS.
I hoped they keep some of the changes.
At the very least some sort of heavy attack damage buff. It would be nice to see heavy attack builds be an option again.
Yes great news today that these drastic changes are not going to be implemented. There were some interesting ideas for sustain, but the changes to Light Attacks were too severe, and it just was not polished enough.
I hoped they keep some of the changes.

That is true, a slight buff to heavy attack damage could stay. It’s not like they were overpowered or even meta with the large buff on PTS. The removal of the self-snare while heavy attacking should also stick around, so that players who enjoy heavy attack builds can move out of red with the rest of us (too bad they won’t be able to block cast and will still top the death counter).
An ice staff could grant the shield on the initial charge of an attack, instead of granting it after completion, with a cooldown. It'd at least be something.

I'm super happy they didn't proceed with the changes in the current state.
But... surely a simple theory session would have ended in the same result with zero wasted development effort? I wish they'd do they with us without even going all the way to the PTS.
To be fair these changes are not what people have being asking, the priorities it's definitely fixing the delays on skills and lag which were increased by the last patch.
