Make the Snipe animation more straight instead of an arc.

Arrows are faster than they appear, it'd look a lot better if the arrow animation for Snipe were more straight and direct to target, instead of making this artillery like arc.

    Honestly, I would like if they would rework snipe completely. Perhaps snipe should be an ultimate rather than a single use ability. One shot, ignores armor, deals massive damage. The alternative to snipe could be the ballista which is the total opposite of snipe - a barrage of arrows dealing massive damage in a short period of time.

    Would solve the issue of snipe desyncs in PVP and make it more fitting to what sniping should be - a single shot for massive damage. Maybe it'd help with the heavy armor meta since it ignores physical resistance.

    Then replace the current snipe skill with something else- like bladed broadhead, which would be a single arrow shot that leaves bleeding wounds, causing additional damage over time. That would actually synergize better with how DPS works overall in PVE.

    Bow needs a spammable though over another DoT.

    I don't really play stam-spec'd characters so forgive me for being less familiar with the bow tree, but couldn't the Acid Arrows/Arrow Barrage serve as a spammable? Seems fairly cheap, can hit multiple targets, and is pretty effective, even on a single target if you are within close range. If not adequate as a spammable now, it could certainly be re-worked to be a spammable.

    Clearly OP has never done archery, any long range flight path for an arrow has an arc because..of gravity, the speed and whatnot depends a lot on what kind of bow but it doesn't matter the spell is designed after firing a ranged shot from a longbow which can be very damaging. pew.

    just an FYI Artillery originally referred to weapons that fired projectiles like slings, bows and catapults so yeh just thought you should know also even bullets arc in flight

    now if the templars death ray arced then id agree

    now snipe at close range is way off but adding an arc that takes range into account
    is bound to be more trouble than its worth

    I had a thought about Snipe being a passive like increase heavy attacking damage by X% from stealth. It would cater a ganking playstyle but would only work out of combat. spammable would have to replaced.
    Snipe could atleast use a better visual so i can spot where it comes from or a damage indicator like CoD.

    Clearly people posting here aren't acknowledging how over exaggerated the arc of the arrows are. The arc of a traveling projectile is effected by both distance AND speed. We are not casting a far enough distance for an arrow to arc that badly. At 28m the drop would be barely noticeable, or should be, if the animations were appropriate.

    If people want to argue that projectile arc is a real necessary thing, I don't see you mentioning Poison Arrow. Or Scatter Shot. Or Arrow Spray.

    It looks a bit strange at very close range, but the spell is modeled after a specific use case which is reflected in it's increased max range capability and it's animation. It looks no less strange than arrows that curve in the air to hit their targets sometimes around corners, poison inject is just an arrow, arrow spray is not a real thing and scatter shot is the close range high impact attack. I'm not out here bow hunting but I did take Archery in school for several years.
