Agree Agree Agree - time all mmos allowed us to wear hats and not go bald (realise you're talking about masks but I hope you know what I mean.)
2020 - surely The Technology is with us?!
Kept submitting suggestions for a couple years now, and to no avail we now have this thread.16BitForestCat wrote: »*LOL* Are you me? My RP groups have been complaining about this issue for years. there are NPC's who wear just a face mask with no helmet

Hm....I actually went back to Twitter and asked the person who said before that there were ESO NPC's wearing that type of mask (we ranted about this topic...again...just last week, so it's still fresh in my mind). He said he must have gotten confused with another game because he couldn't recall any ESO NPC's like that. So there probably aren't any in ESO--I certainly couldn't remember any I'd seen for myself! But that brings up another point, which is that those masks *do* exist in many other games--just not this one. Glaring omission.

I die a little each time I see a mask that has a hood attached to it.
Here are some examples:
Well, duh, otherwise it would not be a -helmet-!Arahallris wrote: »Would love to see head items to do not hide your hair such as traditional rogue scarfs that hide the nose/jaw and or regular various masks that just cover the face in general. No duh, captain chromosome, helms in this regard are merely head-slots.TheShadowScout wrote: »Well, duh, otherwise it would not be a -helmet-!Arahallris wrote: »Would love to see head items to do not hide your hair such as traditional rogue scarfs that hide the nose/jaw and or regular various masks that just cover the face in general. Only if I could.
I want, give meeeeeeeeeeeee
Lotro has tons of those chaperons, they don't really seem very popular in fantasy games. I will confess they aren't too aesthetically pleasing to me though the option should of course be there.StormeReigns wrote: »Fully agree to more Bandit / Highwayman masks/scarves without hats or hoods attached!
Also... Hair and ears need more love! More actual hats in motif styles (yes i love silver dawn style - all except for the neckwarmer and tucked in ears).

You linked a bloke in a suit of armour that for whatever reason made me think of the lack of bevor in armour in almost every fantasy game. (Not to be confused with a gorget of course)
There definitely needs to be more of that as well!

By Pyrite, Mephala and Nocturnal that is damn sexy!

IRL that part was connected with pretty heavy helm. Nobody in sane mind will go to combat in armor which protects mouth but doesn't protect... more valuable parts of head

Here are some examples:
One - way to go, throwing minor insults at someone who mostly agrees with you and actually made the point -years- ago! Sure makes you seem reasonable... NOT!Arahallris wrote: »No duh, captain chromosome, helms in this regard are merely head-slots.
I used the term as referring to design considerations for "(semi-)realisitic" armor looks, and that means that the "Armor Motiv" bits for headslots by nature -have- to be designed to be head-protective-looking, and to properly protect the noggin (which for some people who like using their brains is kinda considered important), a "helmet" thingie like the ones you feel vexed at for having "a hood attached to it" actually needs to cover the head, not just the face, so there can be something protective in play. Some more, some less, but that's what you get for "helmets" in ESO armor design styles...A helmet is a form of protective gear worn to protect the head. More specifically, a helmet complements the skull in protecting the human brain.
There are several... depending on the weight class of course, most of the "just hood" are in the "light" armor class department, but a few styles (frostcaster for example, or psijic for a "helmet under hood" design) have them in medium and even heavy... one way or another. And then there are things like the "prophet" outfit with a hood-style head covering, or the "flannel forester's hood" or "colovian fur hood" hats in the costume section...I would like hoods, that are dye-able, without the mask.

Two - you obviously didn't get what I was saying.
"Helmet" does NOT mean "head-slot", ever.
See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HelmetI used the term as referring to design considerations for "(semi-)realisitic" armor looks, and that means that the "Armor Motiv" bits for headslots by nature -have- to be designed to be head-protective-looking, and to properly protect the noggin (which for some people who like using their brains is kinda considered important), a "helmet" thingie like the ones you feel vexed at for having "a hood attached to it" actually needs to cover the head, not just the face, so there can be something protective in play. ...but not for costume-piece "hats" which can look whatever, be it a fur cap or a pointy witch hat, a flower headdress or a skullcap, a top hat or a pumpkin mask, a crown or a... yes, exactly, the type of facemask you so rightfully ask for to get as option in ESO as well!!!
(And yes, at this point they -could- also add every one of those options to the outfit system under "clothing" or the special outfits, since those are more or less "anything goes" anyway...)
And that is the whole point I was trying to make by saying this, and thinking people would follow the obvious meaning of the term - that it is wrong to expect it from "armor motiv" designs, but right to ask for as "hats" or "clothes" outfit pieces. Sheesh! There are several... depending on the weight class of course, most of the "just hood" are in the "light" armor class department, but a few styles (frostcaster for example, or psijic for a "helmet under hood" design) have them in medium and even heavy... one way or another. Not to mention the issues of animating and rigging.
If helmets aren't compatible with existing hair, then at least give us helmets that include hair. The crown of misrule, the new life festival cap... all of these hats give our character hair to replace what we lost from putting on these hats. So why not make a bunch of hoods with different hair stricking out at the side?
Yeah each time a new MMO is released I hope the baldening effect will be gone.time all mmos allowed us to wear hats and not go bald
