Only thing I hate about Zaan is sometimes LoS doesn't break it. Like I'll run around a wall and the beam will be going right through wall full strength. But that's more likely a lag issue.

Since zaan was released I have never broken it with line of sight. I have been in tower fights where I jump down the stairs and it's hitting me through the roof. I have had it go through a wall and a tree at the same time. And liek I said, it also ignores block.

I don't think zaan should be as strong as it is for how easy it is but I think they should at least give it more counterplay by making it blockable, and affected by line of sight, so it actually breaks when you move behined objects, just like other beam attacks.

You can't block the proc itself but you can mitigate the damage by blocking.

    Fun Fact:
Did you know there's another proc set that has a much easier requisite, a shorter cooldown, can go through walls, and can even travel the length of a BGs map?

    Shhhhhhhh

I just wish there would be more counters tho. The only ones are run away and purge it.

Would be nice that you could block it like every other beam in the game and that the beam would also break on los.

For duels its really some hard carry Set, when you opponent goes offensive you just Go turtle mode and weave in some light attacks, zaan procs and forces your opponent to go defensive. Damage proc sets are in general carry sets for bad players.

There is no reason for somuch dmg

Move 8m away from enemy and it breaks the tether...

If you stand next to him and expect to be able to soak up the zaan damage plus wtv enemy is throwing at you then it is L2P.

I started using Zaan after getting burned a few times by this mag blade.

It's very simple, that monster set applies so much pressure on the enemy so that you force him into a defensive/evasive position. Your heals over time can top you up in the meantime and you can just go all out on the enemy.

I don't even need the Zaan damage to kill, I just need it to force the enemy to switch from all out attack to healing himself.

THIS IS NOT working he/she was able to keep Zaan on me evenI use 2 streaks .. still get zaan but my question is quite diffrenet why the set has to much dmg..

1st: you definitely break it with streak, if you were very close and you streaked towards him, you'll need another streak to break the tether.

2nd: Your question is NOT different, you just don't understand the angle I'm going for. It has everything to do with your question because if you successfully break the beam, it does 0 damage... Now do you agree that 0 damage is not too much?

No I didnt ecen I hav 2full streak from him (at least 20y distance), may the player find why how to exploit it or Streak not working properly again. but why ZOS broek balance with suchg sets? is tehre amny ontehr monester sets which has similliar dmg? no so why is so op... same *** like sloan no skill no iq nothing required just proc set and your dmg is doubled.. may is time to go back to WOW

It might be bugged or you might be so frustrated you're completely biased.

You're complaining about a set that's been around for more than 2 years....

Nobody else is complaining and quite frankly, Zaan can't do crap vs good players so again, it might be bugged but I'm leaning towards L2P...

And your comment about Zaan being like Sload's lol

But there aren’t such monster set which require just two pieces and have comparable dmg not even close. That was my question why the set has so unbalanced dmg. While it’s such bugged set ( working through line of site, streak sometimes not working especially if you are in talons so even u streak out you are still under the zaan dmg. Also from my point of view there is no reason to have light attack proc set which deal more dmg then ultimate.

surprisingly it is, so many bad players blame proc sets over tryhard kill death ratio demanding those players requiring skill to compete but are just bad when it comes to this games design about build with gear.

If this was a stats wise increase tiers of gear, how would it be different to other MMO's like wow or DCUO.

People fail, get over it and I am sick of ZoS catering to these failures.

    Pretty obvious:
    1. Works only on melee and the tether can be broken by gaining distance. This is even easier with gap-closer abilities or knockbacks.
    2. It can be purged. Templars and Wardens have their own regular means of instantly getting rid of Zaan in one spell cast. Curse Eater set has now cooldown per target so you can safely wear it yourself without fear of wasting CD on someone else. Or somebody with Curse Eater can instantly Purge you.
    3. LoS should break Zaan but sometimes this doesn't work. This is something that should be fixed.
    4. It has a proc chance and pretty high cooldown meaning you don't have 100% control over it and it can sometimes go off (this happens often actualy) when you don't want to.
    5. It's a ramping dot meaning you have plenty of time to get rid of it before it starts doing something.

PS: I am not a Zaan user. I am a Curse Eater wearing magDK. One Coagulating Blood is a big middle finger to Zaan.

When zaan is on you try a damage shield like steadfast ward or bone shield it'll change everything.

    Zaan with elf bane?

Definitely not worth it. You lose an entire 5 piece bonus to boost Zaan. Elf's Jane doesn't help with heals etc.

I was thinking of BSW with Silks of the sun for double spell damage boosts, with that who cares if my Zaan procs arent extended?
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Why Zaan do so much dmg? Why not? Please, stop complaining and let people have a little fun....or what's left of it after all these "standards" have left combat in a peculiar state of "yuckiness".
