I don't have to relay on teammates in a group that just do thier own thing anyway so if I'm not in a group ( guild ) then I'll run solo but still go to the hot spots

Sometimes I just don't feel like running with a group.

I like being able to decide where I want to go, or when to leave when I want to.

I don't need to be responsible for or to anyone else.

Adds more delay and crashes, just being in a group as well as the fights groups tend to find themselves in.
Solo I can avoid wasting my time against mad numbers or immortals.
Besides I like thinking for myself and healing everyone (when I can be bothered lol)
that and I'm terrible for staying on crown and have little respect for virtual authority.
I've had some very good group leads though.

I did it due to time constraints, although I always ran with a group whenever we had one up in our guild.

Mostly because I have a lot of distractions while I play. There are times I will have to go AFK for a few minutes. Not really good for the group if I can't always be there.

However sometimes groups are a waste of players. Does it really take an entire group to take a resource?

Yeah i never understood that. If i was leading a group i would tell them to split up and take all 3 resources at the same time or just send 2 people to take 1 resource and rush to the next keep with the rest of the team.

There might be different reasons for each person, like 1vXing and stuff. I personally love good fights, but the main reason why i mostly solo pvp is because of freedom. Freedom of deciding where to go, who to fight, when to leave and also i'm too lazy to tell people what to do.

You said it. I like to actually test my gaming ability rather than rely on other players to win for me

Isn't playing with a team a gaming ability too? :p

I like having a challenge and zerging someone down is not challenging its just bad play.

I like to be the underdog and have an opportunity of doing something thats cool.

Even if i die to a zerg i feel that even if i kill 1 or 2 in the zerg its a victory for me.

I understand that people want to play with their friends but where does it say that the whole group of 20 have to ult dump 1 guy and then bag them?

When i zerg surf i dont attack 1 random guy i give em a chance to do something cool.

When I lose, its minimal; people can't call out my guild for getting zerged down and almost every single loss is to unfair odds anyway.

When I win, its 10x more satisfying knowing i did it myself alone against unfair odds. Its 100x more satisfying that every achievement is 100% done on my own.

Now it doesn't mean im not a team player, I'll run a scroll, take a keep solo, zone general while nobodies on, and kill everyone on siege so my faction can do what they need to do just as fast, if not faster than a zerg. Everyone always assumes solos just sit around rocks on tanks kiting around claiming to 1vX- no, everyone does their part, makes a difference, and is necessary (except for the pve fishing nerds) for a faction to win. Even the solos who just want to kill people as their first priority.

I think OP meant actual solo play, not ungrouped zerg surfing

Prefer to immerse myself in my character and be a silent assassin.

Too many PUG groups talking about zone blowing nonsense.

I enjoy a good coop group from time to time but Seriously... y'all need Stendarr

I solo pvp and play in groups of varying sizes. What I enjoy about solo pvp is that I never know what I am going to find or not find. If I want to take a resource I will, if I want to zerg surf I can, if I want to camp out at a gate or between larger fights it is up to me. It keeps me sharp and shows me where my weakness’s are so I can work on them. For me personally it is a mixture of solo and group play I enjoy the most.

I personally just like doing the opposite of what Cyrodiil zone chat generals are telling everyone to do. :D Also, joining a PUG is often just as successful as going it alone.

Because its boring to get carried by healers and other bad players who need to ball up in massive groups to kill anything.
