Why do you solo pvp?

I don't have a PvP guild and most PuG groups don't do anything that you wouldn't get by simply tagging along. In fact some have really poor tactical outlook and I'm better off picking my own objectives most days.

you get way more AP from getting solo kills. plus, i enjoy fighting 5 people at once, and taking on most of them. hard works pays off when you invest your time in gear, skill, and tactical play.

It’s way more satisfying when you get a good streak of 1vX going. Also nostalgia from before they catered so heavily to the zerg mentality.

That being said, solo BGs I have always dominated, so this patch is going to be a blood bath with MMR reset and everyone solo queing.

A good solo pvper can make the difference. Like capturing Vlas so the other alliances can't respawn there while AD zergs are busy taking keeps.

I plan on doing a fair bit of solo PvP. I was also invited to a small-scale guild by a friend in my social guild so there's that.

My interest is in becoming a good player and I've been told repeatedly by a great many people, mostly experienced/talented PvP players, that you will not learn skills in a zerg.

So here I am, and I love it.

I never am really solo because I think of the alliance as my team. Instead of being in a guild or a group, my team is the entire faction. Zone chat instead of group chat.

Not grouping with people has its downsides but solo you are able to move around more freely. You can respond to an UA faster, flag keeps, take resources and scout while groups are doing another thing.

However sometimes groups are a waste of players. Does it really take an entire group to take a resource? Also, sometimes group leaders make stupid decisions leaving the faction keeps undefended.

Well I know when I have run solo, I've come up on others getting pushed and bailed them out. Might be breaking some unwritten rule doing that at times, when smaller numbers are killing allies but I'm aware that duo to small man would not have any qualms nailing me if I came alone most the time. Surfing at times is also part of being solo. Then you're just zerging without the group responsibility. Kind of not really solo but still helping.

Taking resources/towns forcing the enemy to commit to pulling some off the front line is helping.

Taking back our own resources in back keeps so groups dont have to pull off the front line to do it, is helping.

Those last 1 will help you L2P as well as you're probably going to find someone decent who will kill you if you dont play well. Just watch as a lot of them like to get on the gaurd spamming eclipse, negates, and CC on you. Also, as mentioned; duos and small man groups you find there will not hesitate to all attack you

Yeah, I don't have anyone to play with, all the PVP guilds I join seem to die within the month for some reason, my other guilds are in random alliances.

I either join the big zone group or if there aren't any around I Lead a PUG group.

Group PvP'ing in my experience is not very organized but then again I'm not in a PvP (main) guild. Even when I was in a PvP guild, the guild leaders weren't very forthcoming on events/raids or organizing events. It was a top tier guild and I left after 2 months, thinking if this is top tier and still an unorganized mess, I'll go back to solo'ing. I enjoy the fights and the taking of keeps, its cool and dying doesn't bother me (I die all the time...ha), still working on that super ultimate build...ha

Performance. I had to learn how to play solo because of the group issues in Cyro back in the days. I would love to do more keep fights but the performance killed the fun. Ok, actually Cyro performance in general kills the fun, but I hope this getting fixed soon.

But than I ll play solo again because of better performance not to fight near keeps and it is much more fun and rewarding

To challenge myself. There is no real end game pvp offered in this game. To me outnumbered pvp whether it be solo/duo, Or small group 4 to 6 man is the closest thing we get. I know Zenimax will never put any effort into giving us an actual end game pvp like Destiny does with Trials of Osiris, but if they dead I think it could be incredible. Obviously the game would have to function, and some serious pvp balancing would have to take place for it to not be a complete joke.

I don't have a predictable enough schedule or enough time on a regular basis to devote to a PVP guild or group, but I like to PVP in Cyrodiil and I like to help my team push and defend objectives. And like others have already said, being solo does allow a level of flexibility to quickly respond to zone chat callouts. Mostly I just try to go where I think I will be most useful to my faction at any time, whether it's defending a trikeep with a couple other people, supporting a scroll run by scouting ahead, or just being someone who can provide extra firepower when my faction is sieging a keep.

All that said, I got my PVP start in a group pugging during MYM last year, and I really enjoyed the coordination of group play as well! Both solo play and my early grouping experiences really helped me learn a lot about PVP and what's required to 1) die less often and 2) occasionally take some people with you

I solo PVP till someone invites me to a group, or some serious stuff is going down and I need to know where my allies are. Other than that being a solo person allows me to not have to rely on a leader to tell me what to do. I listen to zone chat and when something is happening I can be there quickly.
