being that's it has been a long while since we had any news what so ever on the subject I think it is high time we start requesting some type of update/news on what they are doing with the cp system.

I honestly don't believe they have any idea how to rework this system. And ask yourself...even if they do, how many things will it break in the process?
The code in this game seems like a sloppy mess. Can they touch something so intricately tied to combat without completley ruining how combat works? I'm personally doubtful.

My guess is going to be CP will be frozen until servers go down. Then in a "Look back on ESO" feature, some dev will say it was one of thier deepest regrets that they never got around to finishing the CP rework project.
Highly doubt they know what they are doing with it.

I really doubt they have even the slightest idea of what they want to do with CP, even after all this time, or else we probably would have gotten some sort of update on it by now. They could at least tell us "hey no we're still looking at it" but we all know how ZOS is with communication (aka 95% of the time we don't get any from them). I will grant that with CP as ingrained in so much that it is it'll take a lot of caution and likely time to implement any major changes with it, but over two years now I think it's been and literally not a single whisper about what's going on? Even if it's just to let us know it's still on hold and literally nothing's been done about it yet?

Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath

A rework would take away about 50% of everything you currently have and make you weaker in the process. Than the devs would have to adjust content to be easier for the masses given this update.

The issue with all MMOs is power creep. Even well thought out design deal with power creep. ESO system is one of the better systems. Not perfect but one of the better systems.

IMO what they should do is allow players to spend the extra CP earned on alts to open up various achievements. This would ensure players can use the extra CP they have and be able to gain things that they have on their man and move it over to an alt and not feel as if the extra CP is wasted.

Open up the entire system, level all content to max cp's. Battle level everyone till they reach max cp. Done! This gives people a reason to log in every day and do some progression without always needing new content that only last for a week to complete. This also puts a end to the power creep.

Well it is a big thing to change in the game, so I would rather them really get to the bottom, rebuild it in an exciting and fun way. Yes, rather than just hash anything old thing out to please people...

They have a production line when it comes to making things, just like any company any for all we know they might have to go back to the drawing board several times as it just didn't cut it...

Sorting out the performance is the main thing while trying to drive new content is on the cards. I would be very surprised we will hear anything about it soon/this year.

I don’t care if they ever make changes to CP. I don’t even care if they remove it and completely scrap any end game leveling systems. And I certainly don’t feel I deserve any such thing. Nor does anyone else.

I'm not a programmer, but maybe the solution to that would be to re-label current 160cp to whatever the max was and create new items for lower levels.

    No we dont
Why would we want ZOS to further break things, when there is enough work to be had on existing issues to last the lifetime of this game!

What I'm hoping they do is finish the process that One Tamriel started as part of their plan. With One Tamriel, character levels and gear levels became meaningless because everything scaled up to the same level anyway. Yet we still have character levels and gear levels, which could be phased out and the game would loose nothing for it. There would still be skill levels and experience that raises them as usual. The "champion" system could then be tied directly to skill levels instead of your character overall. Imagine how cool it would be to continue getting experience for your class skill lines and could apply bonus points in ways that enhance specific skills that are key to your character concept? I'd love it. Instead of generic bonuses (though there could be some of those too) you'd get more character specialization and distinction.

WHATEVER ZOS DOES THESE DAYS - THEY ARE NERFING THINGS.
So enjoy your CP powers - until ZOS will nerf you as well.

btw: The best thing- for better performance AND better balance
would be to get rid of CP once and for all.

we deserve an update to cp system
NEVER ask for what you (think you) deserve...
...because you might get it (as others think).
    f4de4627f9faa3f7c8afc7424947fefb.gif

    Morbid jokes aside...
...it is not our place to -demand- a CP system update in the annoying "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" way, yet its still a thing that should happen someday soon, and i reckon they are working on it as they can. Yet since the system has its... issues... that work may not be as quickly done as many wish (Yes, myself included)

Or at least find it a difficult topic to work up a decent improvement that covers all the angles. Because if it were easy... yes, they'd have done it already.
But hey, some things take time to work out! So... patience is a virtue, you know? ;)

    Not likely.
People really, really don't like it if things they spent a lot on time at suddenly get taken away.
So, the champion system is here to stay... but... might change.

As for PvP... fu... uhm... forget PvP! Its one small part of the game, and CP break it -less- then most PvPlayers claim! If it DID, then noone would EVER PvP in the CP-enabled campaigns. Since people ARE playing there... obviously PvP is fine with or without CP, except perhapos for whose who are more whining then grinding to rack up their own CP numbers I suppose.

Not when you pay for a product.

Usual gotcha phrases, used in incorrect situations.

When you are paying for something, the phrase you are entitled to nothing flies out of the window because you are paying for it. And if they do not deliver, well, i guess i'm gonna go somewhere else.

There are a lot of things that zos should be doing that they aren't, which is why i haven't played for a long time.

It doesn't matter, this is how bartering works. Even if there is some tos bs thing, it does not matter.

At the end of the day if people do not like the product because they feel like it's neglected they will leave.

Look at fallout 76 as an example, at the end of the day, if a product is really bad people will leave, that;s about it, it doesn't matter how much you were liked, one very wrong step and you will damage your reputation, and i feel like eso is going down the same path of, "let's do the minimum possible".

Patience is a virtue, but seeing as CP has been locked for all this time and we have literally not a single word on what, exactly, they plan to do, I believe it's safe to assume it's because they have no idea what they want to do. If they had some inkling of what they might be planning and actually shared it ("we think x idea could be a neat thing but it's not guaranteed to happen this way") that would be one thing. But all they've given us is "we're still working on it". I've already granted that this is something that will likely be difficult and time-consuming given how ingrained CP is in practically every part of the game, but you can only sit on your hands for something for so long before people (rightfully) start questioning what kind of progress, if any, is being made.

Perhaps leave the current system alone - capped at 810 CP. CP earned after 810 don't go toward contributing to power creep, rather they can be reemed for crown gems. I offer crown gems because it is something that I figure almost all higher level players would appreciate (unlike XP scrolls for CP1300 players or transmute gems for PvP players. . . .).

My thoughts above are just one idea, but guided by simplicity and minimal risk to combat balance.
