So the last update from Gina was Zos would be taking this up after they complete implementing the combat redesign we have been experiencing for the past year.

So OP wants an update that merely says they are or will be working on it and will let us know when they have a design to communicate with us. Until then nothing more to report? That is about all Zos would say now. They would be very smart to avoid discussing an early design idea as such things have come back and bit them in the rear end before.

Not sure where you get that from. Zos provided a well-written roadmap for the performance work and have updated it multiple times. It has been the best part of the performance overhaul.

Patience is a virtue, but seeing as CP has been locked for all this time and we have literally not a single word on what, exactly, they plan to do...
Yeah, the last word i recall was "We are looking into this", and I have to agree that it would be nice to get a bit of an update...

I've already granted that this is something that will likely be difficult and time-consuming given how ingrained CP is in practically every part of the game, but you can only sit on your hands for something for so long before people (rightfully) start questioning what kind of progress, if any, is being made.
    ...as this thread shows. ;)

And I guess I am more vexed with the "We deserve this!" phrasing then the general notion of "how are things at the CP front?" inquiry... after all, they do have a lot of stuff to juggle with limited resources.
After all, everyone is telling them they "need" to do this and they "need" to do that, and they also have to do the planned DLCs and Expansions to show the profit they need to keep going with the work...
Perhaps leave the current system alone - capped at 810 CP...
    Not Likely.
A system such as this is entirely a good thing, as it rewards players with the warm feeling of "ding - your character(s) just got better" so they are unlikely to swap it for a "play to reduce our profits" idea where the grindwankers would feel tempted to use new automated play mechanics to get cash shop currency...

They are likely to rebalance the whole thing, yes, and maybe rethink the stars a bit, make the "diminished results" calculations a bit more pronounced, perhaps even split off sub-stars to put half the effect into specializations... (like, main star gives half the current bonus to ALL magic, sub-stars for the other half bonus for one -specific- type get added, and people need to decide which way to split their CP), and possibly add new stars for new effects... time (and development) will tell I guess.

Idk. Why would you be excited for more nerfs ?
Because if you ask ZOS for CP changes, this is what you will get - a huge progression nerfs across the board...

As for the PvP we have options - cp or no cp and it is the best solution.

I'm not sure anyone deserves it, but it would definitely be a really nice gesture if they gave us a a sense of their plan for CP.

Not when you pay for a product.

Usual gotcha phrases, used in incorrect situations.

When you are paying for something, the phrase you are entitled to nothing flies out of the window because you are paying for it. And if they do not deliver, well, i guess i'm gonna go somewhere else.

There are a lot of things that zos should be doing that they aren't, which is why i haven't played for a long time.

On the Internet, everyone is these three things:
    - A software developer
    - A world leader
    - A lawyer
    A dude who likes tanking.

Jurgeld the Stalwart, Sergeant - Nord Dragonknight, EP
    Next character now being decided...

I hear people calling for it a lot, but I am afraid that when it finally arrives, everybody will be whining for the old system cause they are now significantly weaker than before or the new system doesnt fit their builds.

I am glad it hasnt happened yet.

I’m sitting at 1332 CP and know that if they put in a new system, the 500+ extra CP will be wasted and I’ll probably be weaker than before.

Based on the fact that the last update was supposed to improve performance but it's actually worse than its ever been. Does not portend well for seeing an actual improvement.

I honestly don't believe they have any idea how to rework this system. And ask yourself...even if they do, how many things will it break in the process?
The code in this game seems like a sloppy mess. Can they touch something so intricately tied to combat without completley ruining how combat works? I'm personally doubtful.

My guess is going to be CP will be frozen until servers go down. Then in a "Look back on ESO" feature, some dev will say it was one of thier deepest regrets that they never got around to finishing the CP rework project.
Highly doubt they know what they are doing with it.

    Objection. Calls for speculation.

they wont do squat with it. they are prefectly fine selling chapters that are just rehashed lvling content with no progression or emergence at all. as long as your willing to buy garbage they will keep selling it. It's so sad to see bethseda do this with one of the most immersive franchises ever. Truthfully I think they are putting more money towards ES 6 and looking to sale this game off into the sunset
