

Definitely a pvp ultimate. Ok damage that is almost guranteed and a strong counter to dodge roll or cloak.
You are not really guranteed to land a LA + spam over and over again in pvp so this ultimate is preferable over that option.
I also dont think it would be a good idea to add an execute option to this ultimate bcz it has strong base damage. Jesus beam is not very strong to opponents who have over 25% health. i often find that unless my opponent is 15% or less i am better off using other options over it. The old problem with jesus beam was the pre escalation of execute that has great range and cant be dodged or cloaked. Since soul assault has strong base damage one could find a target at 60% and its nearly a guranteed kill.
I understand that soul assault seems underwhelming vs other ultimates but every other ultimate has their con's aswell.
Nah bad request. Soul assault is stupid ability. It can only be bad or OP in its form. Any changes to the damage output are just not gonna help or help too much.

It encourages smart gameplay where if enemies see the beam, they shouldn't attack you.

Onslaught is not OP? Executioner not OP? Rapid Fire is not OP? Any ultimatum abilities with control and damage are not OP?
Stamina has a much larger arsenal of OP mechanics, and mana must also have something to counter Dodges, Executioner and others.

You want a skill which hard counter against builds which aren't tank builds and is extremely potent in Xv1? No thanks. This skill should stay dumpstered.
It would be pretty cool though if soul assault was made into a cheap instant projectile burst ultimate. There's no ultimates in the game which currently do that and it would fit many magicka classes perfectly such as magicka sorc.
