"Soul Assault" changes needed

Some time ago, the standardization of abilities began and the cost of use was increased for Soul Assault, this is a fairly fair change, but in terms of damage, nothing has changed and it has become even worse, because this is the only Ultimate that does not increase your damage.

The main problem is that while using Soul Assault, you can't continue using normal abilities, so your damage remains exactly the same as if you just continued using the "LA + spam ability", as shown in the screenshots. Which is why no one uses it anymore.

At the moment, there is a problem that mana builds do not have access to a comfortable "finishing ability", while stamina has a "Reverse Slash".

Suggestion: add additional damage below 50% health to this ability like "Radiant Destruction".

This change will give mana builds a comfortable finishing ability like stamina and counter play for roll-dodge.

    Definitely a pvp ultimate. Ok damage that is almost guranteed and a strong counter to dodge roll or cloak.

    You are not really guranteed to land a LA + spam over and over again in pvp so this ultimate is preferable over that option.

    I also dont think it would be a good idea to add an execute option to this ultimate bcz it has strong base damage. Jesus beam is not very strong to opponents who have over 25% health. i often find that unless my opponent is 15% or less i am better off using other options over it. The old problem with jesus beam was the pre escalation of execute that has great range and cant be dodged or cloaked. Since soul assault has strong base damage one could find a target at 60% and its nearly a guranteed kill.

    I understand that soul assault seems underwhelming vs other ultimates but every other ultimate has their con's aswell.

    This ult frankly weak after changes, with it no one more not kill, even on 20% health.

    What soul assault needs is decreased channel time. Everytime you cast this ability in pvp you are guaranteed to die in these 6 seconds if fighting against decent players.

    My suggestion:

    "X percent of damage taken while casting this ultimate is transferred through the beam at the enemy."

    It encourages smart gameplay where if enemies see the beam, they shouldn't attack you.

    I think greatly increased magicka+stam recovery during the channel would be nice, and benefit both PvP and PvE. One of the benefits of the skill currently is that you get 5-6 seconds of damage for no resources—but that comes at the cost of no skill / light attacks for the duration. So, might as well lean into that element of the skill

    I've seen the skill in battlegrounds. Ult is too expensive, I think

    You want a skill which hard counter against builds which aren't tank builds and is extremely potent in Xv1? No thanks. This skill should stay dumpstered.

    It would be pretty cool though if soul assault was made into a cheap instant projectile burst ultimate. There's no ultimates in the game which currently do that and it would fit many magicka classes perfectly such as magicka sorc.
    Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

    The fact that it is a dps loss when you channel this warrants a chance.

    Sure, it can get a few ticks in on a dodge-roller before they start blocking or cloak, but an ultimate shouldn't be called an ultimate when it is otherwise a drawback.

    Lesser channel time - more damage!

    This ability and Radiant Destruction should be changed to deal more damage the closer you are to the target. Increase risk=increased reward.

    I need a really useful ult that will help both against Dodge builds and tank builds. So far, the only ult that is suitable is the ballista, but it requires a bow.

    I remember asking precisely this for Soul Shatter almost a year ago but it didn't seem to interest people.
    But yeah, right now Soul Assault is just way to expensive for what it does.

    Does no one remember when this skill was slotted by loads of people in PvP and everyone but NB (who could cloak it) asked for it to be nerfed? maybe 2 years ago? 3 years?

    Oh how we’ve come full circle.

    But yeah, they over nerfed it. It’s useless now. ZoS has a really heavy hand when it comes to nerfing...
