Why are we paying for this game?

I’m not. Cancelled my sub several months back after major performance issues started with Elsweyr, and also because ZOS failed to fix broken Necro bash builds in a timely manner. Uninstalled after Dragonhold introduced constant crashing in Cyrodiil. I told myself I would not spend another cent on the game or reinstall it until Cyrodiil performance gets back to a playable state on PS4. Still waiting for a fix three months later.

Imagine still paying for this, rofl I dont think I put a single dollar into the game since wolfhunter. Gold to crowns BiS.

I play because I like the game. I'm only supporting the game by buying game DLC's and expansions. However, I quit purchasing extra stuff when Summerset dropped. I just got tired of them hiding stuff in scam boxes, and I wasn't happy with some decisions they made.

I can assure you PvP players do spend money ( when we are happy ) I used to spend on the average of 100 dollars a month.

I'm hoping the crash issue is fixed soon. I personally think performance is better but it is hard to tell since the update just came out. It is not like everyone quit. We've still having fun in Gray Host.

Also one thing I do like about the most recent update is. If ESO crashes I used to have to press CTRL/ALT/Delete and stop the ESO process. If I didn't do that then I would have multiple ESO processes running which seems to put a lot of pressure on my computer.

Why do you guys think PVPers don’t spend money? I spent most of my time PVP and pay for ESO+ since I purchase the game, I also always buy even preordered expansion.

If you guys go to cyrodiil you will see lots of players with apex mounts or other mount and costum from crownstore.

I like the muppet-headed notion that there are PvP or PvE players like they’re two separate species.

It perpetuates the ignorant idea that there are two different demand sets which are mutually exclusive.

I play the game in part because it offers both elements. There may be many issues at the moment, but the idea that PvP don’t spend any money is as inane as the notion that no one who plays PvE ever fights in Cyrodiil.

Yup, the idea that PVPers don’t pay for microtransactions is so silly. Some of the best monster sets in the game are paywalled behind DLC content, and Clown create disco ball mounts are pretty much all you see in Cyrodiil. People want the best gear in which to dominate their enemies, and they want to look stylish while doing so.

I’m a PVPer (well, I was — haven’t played since Dragonhold) and have definitely spent more on this game than the average casual PVE quester that this game caters to.

Probably because PVP is an afterthought for most of us not the main reason we decided to buy the game in the first place nor the reason we continue to play.

Well, when the game first came out it was advertised as an AvAvA game, and a lot of people who played since beta, still play for that reason. But it must be nice to be able to dismiss a portion of the playerbase because you dont like that gametype.

Cyrodiil costs nothing to play after buying the game. This is not like WoW.

Not true. If you want access to certain skill lines and classes, it does cost money. And most pvpers also buy a lot in the crown store.

I think many are waiting to see if Greymoor holds up content, quality and gaming enjoyment wise.
If it doesn't and they've touched a sensitive Elder Scrolls Lore region which hosted one of the best selling RPG games of all time...well then they have a problem.

I hope they are doing their best to make this next chapter 'the greatest' we've seen so far, because the previous additions feel like lazy content (asides the art department -> You guys still get kudos, but you must be sick of modelling and rendering non combat pets every month).

If Greymoor lags, bugs, crashes or is just 'flat'...many are going to pick up their traveller bags and leave the Eso-Shire in search of a new adventure...not looking back and moving forward.

Yeah the story lines seem to get shorter and shorter. The art department is the only ones killing it at this point.

I stopped buying crowns over a year ago, because of the mockery that are PC EU performances. Now after years of pre-purchasing the big expansion (did it since morrowind), I won't buy Greymoor because this "performance plan" is just a spit in our faces. The sub is next in line if they continue down this road. I'm glad to see that many others feel this way, income drop it's the only reason why they might finally wake up and do what's necessary to save their game. And it is a great game, but they are killing it

Eh, makes sense to me. I've never really understood the whole internet phenomenon of "endlessly stalk the forums of a game you seem to hate".
(I see that on Steam all the time. So strange.)

PVP does not seem to be in a good place at the moment for sure. What with bg's no longer being group accessible and Cyrodiil a crash simulator.

Could you please remind me of the last time PvP was in a good spot?
Cyrodiil has been a crash and lag simulator for years and it took hours to get into a BG because the grouping tool was broken for ages too.

No sub or clown store or gambling for this one. It took a little while to adapt to playing with a truncated inventory and no craftbag but I definitely do not regret my decision to stop paying for this mess. The direction it's been going over the last year especially, with the ridiculous changes, the continued degradation of performance and ever-expanding monetization has all continued to reinforce that decision. I would honestly like to financially support the game again because it has a lot of great things going for it. Unfortunately, I just can't endorse what's being done.

Because I have some delusional idea that by supporting the game, the developers would make it better over time... I was wrong. Now I’m hoping my precious $ combined with others will at least give ZoS reason to develop a new game with a new engine...

Well, someone has to pay for the show or it couldn't go on. ESO+ is a good way to do it, because I get QoL features and some crowns to spend as well. At first I bought some DLCs, but i realized pretty quickly, that i'm better off just being subscribed by many reasons - and within a year i get as well enough crowns to buy a couple of notables homes or a bunch of others. In the end i get something for my money and as I said someone has to pay for the show, it couldn't be sustained just from the initial purchase price.

Gold to crown means, straight up, giving actual money to the devs... It's literally sanctioned gold selling... It's not your money, but someone paid for the crowns they are selling you. And because you bought the crowns from them, they'll buy more to sell again.

Think about it. You created a demand and someone will pay actual currency to fulfill it.

A lot of mmos i have played do this, sometimes its free sub or whatever and sometimes its just some compensation for the issues. Archeage, bdo, wow. Eso does not though and if i had to guess i would say its because the game has been broken for years, with no end in sight. Every update they make it worse.
    Banana wrote: »

If we did this we would never pvp, kind of like what I do now. Just not playing. But its been pretty much unplayable, most of the time, since morrowind. At least in the populated campaign, and on xbox thats really the only campaign with any action.

Im happy they're finally (after like 4 years) acknowledging the performance crisis, but this doesn't look good for the future. Especially for pvp and console pvp. At least when it comes to their fixing the problem.
