Whats the trick with this? Im L11 bow-sorc and its a L8 quest but I cant seem to beat her. I know to kill the globes, but I cant seem to get them all before one gets to her and heals her full. Tried pulling to the next room for more space but she leashes and runs back. Is it intended to be a group quest?

This is also the first quest Ive done that I havent seen half a dozen other adventurers in so Im guessing its instanced?

alternatively you could always just put that quest on the side while you level up for a bit then come back to it :) :P

It also depends on what faction you are in. With the Dominion it gives you a big room and I was able to defeat her pretty easily with my bow-nightblade, but with the Pact it is a confined room that gave me lots of trouble with my sorc

I found Doshia relatively easy to solo on my dragonknight, and got her on the first or second try. Gutripper was much harder, and I put that off until I was level 12.

I must confess that I am having the same problem, and the number one culprit for my problems can be pegged on one thing. The collision detection. At some point in the fight her body is going to block me from getting at one of the orbs, and that sends me right back to square one.

Basically it is too big of a body in too confined a space. Making matters worse if you are primarily a ranged attacker. It does take more then a single strike to do in the orbs. So while you may eventually succeed with some luck. It is actually punitively expensive to do so.

The obvious solution would be for the developers to tether her to the chamber just prior to her room. So ranged combatants can have a encounter that is more skill rather then luck. I can see where tanks, and healers can have a much easier time with it, because they can stand there and take the pasting, but for the hit and run types it is basically suicidal.

I had to use a combination of all of my skills. I am a dual weapon Templar and I ended up using a staff of magic (reduce magic by three and add 1 to health) and this is what ultimately worked. I think standing near Merric helped also. Good Luck.

It's a pain fighting her close combat without AoE. Sometimes I allegedly missed hitting an orb while it obviously should have been a homerun. Her HP went back and forth and after 15 minutes I just ran away.

I came back the other day and that time Doshia didn't transform, so there were no orbs to bother me. Easy as pie.

And yes it's instanced. In beta I had no problems with her since I had some AoE to take care of those orbs.

Came at this with a new character. Either templar is way easier than sorc or maybe Im just a better templar than sorc. Beat it at level 8 when the sorc couldnt get it at 11. Didnt even have silver bolts, though to be fair to the sorc he didnt either.

Played this at level seven with a one handed and shield and it was undoable. Mainly because of the serious bugs with the orbs in this encounter more then anything.

She spawned orbs right on top of her. The orbs weren't dying from one hit of my one handed axe. She healed to full health from 1-2% with no orbs hitting her.

I play on the Ebonheart Pact and I really like challenging fights, but this fight is just broken. The orbs need fixing and the Ebonheart Pact encounter needs her in a much larger room.

With my lvl 10 sorcerer , i died once because i got stuck on a floor tile , but after i revived i , had no problems with her , i used Overload to beat on her and the orbs at the same time , in a small room , since the DC has an enclosed space as well.
The AOE from that ultimate and the fact that it was a toggle helped me out a lot , basically couple Overload with Lightning form and you don't even feel her attacks :P

I really haven't had that much trouble with Doshia... between beta and live I've beaten her three times. I've beaten her with a ranged DPS (archer), a Templar with a 2-hander, and a sword and board tank. All of these characters were around level 8-9. You just gotta get the pattern down, mostly. I beat her on the first try all three times. The only time I died trying to beat her was when I tried at level 6, which was obviously too low to try.

Dragonknight here, couldn't do it at 8, or 9. Tried it at 10 after I got my first ultimate (the Dragonknight Standard from Ardent Flame). Eventually got her at 10.

The fight is problematic at a few points, and I bugged these, but figured I'd share as people are having similar problems.

The orbs spawn relative to the room she's in. If you pull her out of her spawn room, the orbs travel a much longer distance to reach her, giving you more time. The issue is that you can't draw her too far, or she leashes and returns.

Fighting her in her own room, you have to have the DPS to burn her down between orb spawns, or it's just not gonna happen. Sure, you can plan from level 3-8 and spend every skill point just preparing for that fight, but honestly, that's broken design, and I'm sure Bethesda knows that.

In my opinion, in fully crafted gear, with an 'average' set of skills, the easiest way to deal with the fight is to outlevel it and return at 10 or 11. Once I was able to drop my Ultimate, Dark Talons, and use Brawler on the orbs, it eventually did work. But it wasn't an easy fight by any means. I had to try it a few times to get the timing right, and the orbs are buggy as hell.

Adjustments to make the encounter reasonable?
Have each orb heal her by a small percentage, perhaps 5% per orb, so that she doesn't heal up to full so quickly.
    OR
Reduce the number of orbs, such that she can't heal more than 25% per cycle.
    OR
Reduce the hit points in the orbs, so they are destroyed by -any- damage.

So far, up to level 12, Doshia was BY FAR the most difficult encounter. Gutripper was a dream compared to Doshia. The Wyrd Tree corruption fight was a walk in the park compared to that Doshia.

That's my opinion, enjoy the game! :)

Happily, more than one person appeared to have a problem with this, and it's been adjusted, as per the 1.0.3 patch notes here.

Just make it so you can bring a friend along to help you out. It is an MMO for god sakes and why do MMO developers think it is a good idea to make single player ONLY quests in MMO's?

Anyway I see in the latest patch they have nerfed Doshia's abilities so it should be a cake walk now...which is the WORST solution they can possibly come up with because pretty soon you can solo the entire PvE content and then the game becomes nothing but a boring grind.

When she spawns the orbs, kill one at one side, then while shooting the others, move her towards a direction where there isnt an orb, the orb has to follow her and thus give you more time to kill them off.

Not to mention that when you destroy the orbs, they heal you back instead of her. I did it with sword and board DK. And you really should interrupt her big attack, even though it won't stun her, at least she won't suck your soul out.

I actually forgot about the quest. I went back to PVE while they were having issues with the chat and realized it was till there. I ended being a level 18 at the time, 2 hits to kill her. I first tried the quest at level 10 and got killed immediately, so I just forgot about it.

If you're a crafter (skill points to crafts rather than fights), it will seem like the game's cheating you.

Is that what's happening? If so, level up more.

It's funny, at level 33, as part of the main quest line, you face a "harvester" in Valley of Blades (before the Titan) and it's just as bad as Doshia. Of course, if you have a ranged attack, you can shoot the orbs, but the Naga/snake-lady mechanics with the healing orbs, the ground AE, and the soul-sucking, all together?

Not a party. Up close it's death... Far away, slower death. Even with the three quest NPC's "helping" you, it's still an annoying/frustrating fight, not a challenging/fun fight.

Once again, if the entire intent is to somehow have a ranged interrupt (is there even such a thing?) and/or heal through it all (mmm resto staff for -everyone- !) or just die repeatedly as a gold sink... mission accomplished, I guess?

Unless everyone is supposed to have a bow or destruction staff (which yay for nightblade/sorcs) the 'harvester/doshia' mechanic is giving the big middle finger to the rest of the classes/weapons in the game. Which is fine if you want to gate "end-game" content, but NOT on the main quest line.
