Launcher mini-patch broke news feed on some clients, esp Win7 (PC/NA, Feb 25)

EDIT: This thread was originally titled "So what was in today's mini-patch?", but I have renamed it because of subsequent problems for some PC users.

My launcher just installed another patch (Feb 25, PC/NA), but I don't see any mention of maintenance or new patch notes in that part of the forum. Update to the launcher on PC, perhaps?
@ZOS_GinaBruno , @ZOS_JessicaFolsom , @ZOS_SarahHecker , could you please put a note up whenever there are any new changes to the client or hotfixes on the server? It would help a lot for those of us who like to check the before and after situation on ongoing issues.

It appeared just now when I logged in for the first time today to be a launcher update, but the news then failed to load.

I've experienced no game update today, but the launcher notified me at one point that there was a newer version of it and asked me if I wanted to update. In doing so it changed appearance from the sandy brown of Elsweyr to the pale grey of Dark Heart of Skyrim.
So my best guess is that would be what you got. Officially welcome to the year of vampires and pseudo vikings.

Same. I got a launcher update today....but it got 3/4 done, then flashed and said it was totally done kinda funny like.....but the only thing I noticed any different is the splash screen on the launcher itself.

So that was what that loading bar was for. Didn't realize it until you said it. Thank you for pointing it out.

An ugly launcher for a boring year. Huzzah !

It doesn't appear to be a game update as I have been playing on the client download from yesterday and did not get any client out of date error.

We changed the layout of the patcher to be Greymoor-themed and added a Russian language option in preparation for ESO supporting the Russian language later this year. (This only changes the language for the launcher, not the game itself.)

Sure there a tons of more important things and its just a very minor annoyance, but still i'd prefer choosing a Summerset or Elsweyr layout of launcher. That snowy and grey isnt catching my favor.

Thanks. However, is there anything that can be done to fix the news not loading please? I googled it and found that when this previously happened it required a quick fix at your end to the news tracker.

Is this still occurring? If so, do you have the "new" patcher with the Greymoor logo or does it still have the Elsweyr art?

Thanks for the reply Sarah. Yes, I have the same launcher art as that shown above in post #7. I've closed and re-opened the launcher a number of times, and each time it says it's loading "Updated Application List" and then the launcher opens fully with "loading" on the news section followed by "Could Not Load News". The good news is that the "Play" button works fine

Ugh, we have to look at Gimli all year? Why not put Lyris on there? She would look much better..... even though she’s dead and all that.

Is there going to be a fix for fonts in the client when Russian is chosen? As far as I know, Roboto Condensed font is being used here for top links (account, store, support etc.) and Play button and this font does support Cyrillic symbols. But for now, there's a version without Cyrillic symbols and system falls back to Arial (UPD: actually Helvetica, then Arial Narrow and only then Arial) which looks simply ugly.

Just curious if it's only those on PTS who are having newsfeed problems with the updated launcher. My launcher install croaked a bit (I had some message popups about another instance of the launcher already running, took a while before I could relaunch it after the patch), but the news item links (both left and right hand panels) work fine for me.

(I'm just surprised that all of the images above show "PTS" near the top left).
