    I tank like you and have had the exact same thing as you happen so many times. Like yesterday 3 times in vLoM. I so want this to be a good change but given this sort of stuff is already made worse by Oceanic ping....and the constant degradation of performance........I am fearful of things ...dare I say it...getting worse.

    Hopefully things will be better not worse. I don't expect this change to fix performance issues but help with those issues.
    Yeah still people should see this thread because these changes are coming today. Did some editing to the front page. More people that see this the better people will be prepared with how to deal with these changes they are doing to the block system.. As its going to be not the same as it is was before the Maintenance.

    Have you actually tried it on PTS? Because a lot of people here give clueless interpretations of what's about to happen. The upcoming changes to block will not reduce the number of your one-shots when you have high ping. And "responsive and smooth" can't be anything but placebo effect, because animations didn't change, they just happen once the server confirmed the blocking. If the ping is low, you will see and feel no difference - that's the ideal case. If the ping is high, then instead of blocking and getting 50k heavy and seeing that you didn't block on the death recap, you will keep pressing your button and client will honestly keep showing you that, no, you're not blocking - because server still thinks you're not blocking. For PvE tank in high ping, "but I was blocking" is not really different from "I'm pressing block why am I still not blocking", and additional data turnaround (since server now confirms the block) will only increase server load.

    Lol, no one wants to remove animation cancelling, people just want it to not grant higher dps, since its absolutely stupid to make animations for attacks- then expect people to not see those animations.
    Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

    But eh, whole this thread is a garden of myths, I shouldn't be surprised. The only thing ZOS is trying to do here is to slap another ugly patch on their inability to fight server lags. New ideology is - if server is lagging, everyone is lagging in lockstep instead of seeing own version of events that server didn't follow because of lags. SSDD.

    I think they are fixing some of it, or reworking it so there is less disconnect between server and client. They seemed to have done these changes to block and werewolf this time around going by the patch notes. As Desyncing is what we typically refer to animation canceling according to the video where Gilliam explains it.
