NEW Weapons and Skill Lines!

Unarmed where you don't punch stuff but regenerate mana with channelling hand gesture (and to compensate lack of LA and HA lets say 20% spell damage buff, so it is bit worse but not totally useless) would be lovely.

Or just any weapon to restore that resource you have most. (I know some who would like to use staves as stamina)

I hate being forced to use staves.

Sounds like alot of "they wont add it because it will require work"

What are they doing all day every day. Sitting there watching paint dry? This is their job, asking them to do that does not sound unreasonable.

I want a restoration bow. Like a restoration staff, but a bow. A healey bow.

Another approach would be to add new weapons to existing skills:

    2h could get polearms
Destruction and Restoration could get books/orbs/wands/runes etc.
    Bow could get crossbows

This way they would only need to modify a few passives instead of making new skill lines. I'd prefer new skills, but I could compromise with something like this.

As far as motifs, they could just add them as new pages around the world. Overland barrels for normal races', dwemer pots for dwemer style, and so on. And new motifs could just have them added in.

That's gonna cause a lot of trouble, new skill line is much simpler than modifying the current skill lines that may cause a backlash.

Yeah, but I want polearms. And shields. Most games don't allow you to combine them, but in historical battles they were usually combined because it was OP (reach + defense). Unless there are English Longbows on the hill above you anyway.

Among all boring weapon types hmm i'd rather prefer a book! Than I'd read all of You to death ;D
    As I said elsewhere:
...and yes, I came up with the idea because I really want to have my librarian boy case his spells like this:

    For one, that's quite silly.
For another, as silly as it is, you CAN already do it - Psijic skill line "mend wounds", and then light attack for healing powah!

    Bow could get crossbows...
2H would not really work with polarms, which ought to be for one a bit longer then the 2H we have, for another have more "poke" attacks and less "swing" attacks... I really say those deserve their own skill line.
And for the magic... well, yeah for anything that's two-handed as well, like my Spell Focus idea... but once you get to one-handed wants/runes/orbs/whatever... you will want a new skill line, for the same reason "two-handed" and "dual-wield" are twqo different skill lines. And really, mages could use an option for less range and more attack power...
Total agreement on the crossbow tho.
And there are some other weapons as well that could be added to skill lines as alternate options... flails for example if they don't make too much trouble animating a flexible weapon...

    ...eeeehhhhh...
For one, its difficult to do, as they have their whole data set up with the existing pages (as in, that many pages = one complete motiv / one complete motiv = all -those- pages). Redoing that would mean more alterations, and thus more chances to break something.
For another, it would raise an outcry from those who bought crown store motivs, which gave them a motiv book that filled all the "classic" motiv page slots... and who now would have unfilled motiv page slots when new motiv pages were added.

Much easier to just add any new weapons as secondaries to existing motiv pages as I mentioned... there -are- some that give only one visual, and some that provide two, so it would make sense to "upgrade" the one-visual pages, yes? ;)
