Unbelievable. Not a single person i have ever made contact with asked for any sort of nerf to iceheart. In fact I've heard people ask for buffs to the damage it does. There are no other frost damage monster sets to chose from.

This was one of the worst nerfs to any set I've ever seen. It doesn't need 1 or 2 things reverted. It needs EVERYTHING reverted at the very least.

You've hit a very cold nerve here ZOS.

A horrible nerf to be sure. This nerfs a set that was hurting nobody. In fact, I'd say Iceheart was moslty appreciated by just about everyone.

For me as a solo player, I feel like I've just been told that the way I like to enjoy this game is not ok and should stop. I mean, why? I just want to play through the DLC dungeons on normal and enjoy the story. What is wrong with that?

I dislike nerfs in general, but this one is really just uncalled for.

They haven't destroyed it. Just made it's only unique monster helmet worthless.

I can remember a lot of the same sentiments when shields were gutted. The devs have made it pretty clear that their new standards take priority over user enjoyment. Sadly, something we should just get used to.

This is a monster set with high uptime, low damage and a medium sized shield. Those 5pc sets are so incredibly niche that there is no wonder why no-one uses them. This isn't iceheart's fault at all. There was no need to nerf this set and there were even calls for a buff to it's already low damage.

Pretty sad day. A base game set thats been around for what... 4 years, now not only weaker, but -50% uptime on top of it.

I don't honestly think they're trying to upsell the new monster set, but they have to understand how poorly this looks. It's bad enough that this is the only Ice monster set Ice Wardens get thematically, but you chose to nerf it the same patch as a similar newer monster set. This was only done because the new shield set was being made which prompted them to re-evaluate the power of Ice Heart. It's even more hilarious that Ice Heart lost it's 6s CD, which is now conveniently on the new set with similar shield strength.

On paper, it is a bit strong overall with fantastic uptime, but as always, ZOS doesn't nerf with a chisel, they break out the bulldozer.

This is just as puzzling as the addition of cast time to shields that luckily got reverted. I don't even play a magicka toon in pvp and I was arguing to remove that awful balance change.

creativity is this game is not allowed... any creative idea with the very same tools they provide has been labelled as "dangerous"

It happened to Sap Tanks
It happened to Blazeplars
It happened to LA S/B DKs
It happened to Vampire emperor DK
It happened to invis vamps (NBs)
It happened to tank sorcs (tanking with shields)
It happened to bleed builds
It happened to oblivion dmg builds

So why a legit frost mage should be any different?

There are more than 60 skills that are useless. More than 60 sets that are also useless, why they don't just give us a list of what we have to use to play this game so I don't waste my time going for something that will be nerfed for the sake of "balance"?

I love Bloodspawn and Troll King, arguably becoming the only useful pvp sets, but if we start comparing Monster Sets to 5 piece sets, they will no longer have a place in the game.

Troll King gives +1500 HP regen for 10s to ANYONE you heal under 50% health. Are you going to tell me we should nerf that because Beekeeper only gives +400 hp regen. No, you buff the crappy sets.

After a long consideration, I decided to use this set on my Magden in PvP against BS or alternatively 1pc Chudan+1pc Pirate. Guess what after 2 or 3 days of PVP I took it off. Damage shield after bein cut in half in Cyro (appx 4k) was useless and being a ranged Magden (and might I remind again my Only CC is Melle) the damage from this set was also useless. And on top of this I wasted 100 transmute Crystal. Luckily I didn't make it Gold.

This set was at best unique and helpful for people trying to learn vMA, and was no where near being "LEAGUES AHEAD OF STANDARD " and if it was so I think ZOS needs to rework on their standard.

I wonder when do we see BS gutted? People have already called for it and its be a shame if that happens but given how recently ZoS has been working with their Standards, it's very likely to happen.

The only reason they are doing this is to try to get solo players to buy that new dungeon dlc for the new set, end of story. Well I’ve got news for them, it’s not going to work. Ice heart is a solo players set, most that use it do so in prefer to avoid the hell of pugs or the futility of finding groups that will let us listen to the stories in the dungeons, or those that wanted more defence in vma. Now you took that away you will get less players not more!

If you want to nerf it then strip the damage bit, whatever, but the 100% up time has to remain or this things condemned to the junk pile

Here are my rough ideas for new frost monster sets:

Chillrend: Designed for PvP (Note: I had a dungeon idea for a final boss monster to be a massive ice wraith called Chillrend, and it's death would be caused by a Glass Sword as a nod to the creation of the unique weapon seen in Oblivion and Skyrim.)

Hailthrash: Designed for PvE (Note: this means ALL Frost DoTs. including single target DoTs from Icy Conjurer or Frost Reach.)

I just finished my Northern Storm build (Cant call it Blizzard due to copyrights

) and now they turn it useless. For me the cooldown is the worst. Not only on Ice Heart i can live with smaller numbers, but cooldown and useless proc chances are bad design. Would you buy a motorcycle helmet that protects every 20 seconds at a 10% chance ? Really ?

As far as i read the description the damage stops anyways once the shield is used up. Do what is needed but leave the cooldown untouched

Hopefully they will not nerf or destroy Baby Hircine! Someone posted that and I think it should be a new Elder Scrolls Online Feature. But to the ice set maybe they should revert that because it kind does really look like they are nerfing it so the other new set could be more appealing or something. But then I don't go out the way to chase sets but for many players I think they should revert it.

1 item: Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
2 items: While in combat, casting an ability with a cast time or channeling an ability grants you a damage shield that absorbs 3000 damage for 10 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.

Reduced the duration and cooldown of this item set to 6 seconds each, down from 10 seconds each.
Increased the shield value to 5000 from 3000.
This set now also restores 600 Magicka if the shield is broken.

LMAO defenitly going to try this on my jab spam templar.

Same here, i have so much fun with my ice warden as a solo player, i really don't understand why they did that, i feel so frustrated ...
