We need more furnishing slots.

This is a topic that comes up a lot, but we need more furnishing slots for houses. I have a guildhall with all of the amenities and I have been at cap for furnishings since murkmire dropped. Everytime new craftable sets come out I have to tear apart my house a few more pieces at a time to make room for more tables. This year adding an extra 3 sets compared to the past makes this even worse. If previous years patterns are to be followed this year I am going to have to clear 36 more slots for attunable tables to be added. There isnt going to be much left of my house soon. ZoS, you know that people have guild halls, you know that each chapter and zone update adds 12 more tables, you know that by the end of this year there will be 272 total attunable crafting stations. Pair that with mundus stones, base crafting stations, target dummies, lighting for it all, plus just being able to have a nicer home that we paid in the range of 15k crowns for, there are not enough slots. This has to be the year to add it.

Due to the slot restrictions I think it would be better to get rid of the need for a unique attunable crafting station for each craft and gear set. Instead the attunable station would become a lore book that you use to train a single crafting station for the piece of gear. Kind of like motifs but for crafting stations.

I agree and disagree with this, it would be nice to have everything on one station or one station per set or something. But the problem I have is everyone who already grinded the tables would have to get new ones plus then it wouldnt be as much of an achievement anyway because it would be a lot easier. They would have to make the single stations like 1k vouchers each. If they made it just 1 total station then everyone who already has the tables would have a ton of tables for no reason. I truly just think the solution this late game is to raise the furnishing slot count. I personally think it should be min 1k for a notable home but even just increasing it by 100 would be a huge help.

It won't be much help, but you can get rid of 4 stations since you don't need the base woodworking, blacksmithing, jewelry, and clothier stations with the attunables. Unless you've already done that, then it sucks to have to take apart your decorations a little at a time.

They wouldn't have to start over if ZOS created some mechanism for migration. It could be as simple as taking the attuned table to a master table and telling it to merge or to right click on the station and use it to update a list. Other than what you call it nothing else really has to change in the vendor as far as costs so no player is really out anything nor do they have to learn a new process.

Yeah something can be implemented, but the main issue I have with this is every guild or player that did this grind would be out a ton of vouchers or gold. It would kind of be a slap to the players that did it if that kind of thing was implemented. If something like this was implemented from the start it would have been great but the game has had the current set up far to long to make any drastic change like that. But again just my personal opinion as some one who has spent 10s of thounds of vouchers and 10s of millions of gold setting my guildhouse up.

By base stations I mean alchemy, enchating, prov, outfit, and transmute. But yeah it saddens me a bit more each time I have to take something out to make way for new stations.

No, I think Alinhbo was pointing out there should be a mechanism to convert the existing stations (which total 1k vouchers) to 1 large station, and new large stations should also cost 1k. The cost at that point is the same, and either way someone would have to grind for the vouchers or gold for the stations. Nobody would be out anything, depending on how the conversion mechanism is implemented (I can see zos turning this into another gold sink).

Personally instead of more slots (because we've heard that due to restrictions they can't really allow too much in the way of collision furnishing or whatever the issue is only ZOS knows) I think making Crafting Stations have their own special slot category would be the way to go.

They aren't lighting fixtures and making them collide makes then unusable so it's likely anyone would do such a thing; then set it to some arbitrarily high number like 700. But I remember seeing a thread where Rich gave a recent statement on housing furnishing limits.

It would be great if they made a crafting table that could have multiple attunements that you can convert existing tables into (that way, people who have collected them all lose nothing and can keep a bizillion tables or merge then into four as they desire and people starting out would still have to pay the same, to make it fair).

The multiple attunable stations were always an insane idea.

There should be one for each craft, which you add new sets to.

Yes, even if they did that, we would still need more slots for other things, but unless something changes, they have always said they can't add more.

As Wolfstar says, it would be perfectly possible to allow players to trade in their existing attunable tables.

Either for the same number of vouchers, or directly, in exchange for the new (multiple set) attunable tables and to buy the tokens, which then allow them to add all sets to them.

No one has to be out of pocket.

What it probably is, is that they assume that almost no one will pay real money for a Notable, if they remove the necessity for people to need many, many slots just for attunables.

But, actually, it's more likely to be the other way around.

Guild masters can, already, just buy a relatively cheap notable (like Coldharbour) with gold and then fill it to the brim with crafting tables, if they don't care what the place ends up looking like.

Whereas, if you care about what things look like and want to make a nice guild hall for your members, you are more likely to buy it with real money, if there are:

    a) Enough slots.

    b) You don't have to fill the entire place up with, and use a large proportion of those slots on, crafting tables.

@WolfStar07 understands the idea I am thinking of. No player would be required to buy new "whatevers" to replace their existing attunable stations. Some type of a merge/consolidate function would be added to allow players to migrate their existing stations into master stations for each craft. The new "whatever" would work roughly the same as attunable stations do today where it can be purchased with vouchers or gold and is attuned to the new gear set thereby teaching the master station the new piece. Heck for those players that like the look of endless crafting tables you could leave the "whatever" as an attunable station thus leaving it up to the player on whether to merge it into a master station or keep it as a discrete station. The key is none of it requires a dramatic change to how attunables work today and is really more of a QoL extension to existing function.

I would certainly not argue about getting more furnishing slot. However it is pretty clear it will not be happening anytime soon unless they add more to ESO+.

It comes down to overall server performance. Part of what Zos has been working on is improving the performance of the game. Zos has stated the limits are for server performance and also said they are not adding a furnishings bag because of it's impact on server performance. Until and unless Zos can add inventory space and furnishing slots without impacting server performance it is not going to happen. So I would not hold your breath on this.

Yep, they need to do something! More and more items keep being released, but furniture limits and bank space stay the same.
