Why after 6+ years same login background???

Why after 6+ years do we all still log into the same boring character select screen!

If you’re not going to fix the combat how we ask for then at least provide this minimal quality of life improvement so my eyes don’t bleed seeing the same waterfall & terrible tree textures.

Allow us to chose the background from our series of in game houses we own!

This is interesting! I don't think many of us sit at our log in screens long enough to really think about it much, though. It would be cool to have a custom back drop instead of what we have now, though!

So I take it you play solely AD?

ETA: Not saying it wouldn't be nice to have different backgrounds, but if you have characters from different alliances, then you at least see three different backgrounds.

I think it would be nice if the background would change depending on the zone the character was when you loged out. Current one cold be use for bleakrock, auridon and stros m'kai

It would be cool to see the background of your main home.

It would also be cool to have your own characters as npcs in your home.

It would be even cooler if on the character select screen, all your characters were in the background, as you pick them they swap places to the front.

But.. meh. Won't happen. It's a quality of life change they aren't going to be worried about right now while they work on completely rewriting every aspect of the games crappy code.

Most of my guys are EP the others are DC It kinda bugs me that my EP guys are forever stuck with a snowy background and my DC guys are forever in the desert. The only thing I like about AD is their background lol. I like the idea of the background being related to the zone you logged out of or if it just shuffled between all your factions zones.

You know the game will kick you for inactivity if you spend too much time on character select.

Not saying I don't like the ideas proposed. I just chuckle thinking, if they did this, how many players would get kicked out to the login while in the middle of admiring the perfect background they picked for their character.

Exactly why they should increase the timeout on the character select screen a bit.
Some games even have character data on the server but sync it so that the character data is downloaded to your machine on login, it can be synced back with the server upon logout.
Maybe this is asking too much, which is why slightly increasing the timeout is the easiest solution.

Honestly, of all the things to complain about....

The game has much bigger issues than what the background of the character log in screen looks like.
We are literally there for the 2 seconds it takes to hit "play"
Id rather they didnt waste time on this

If not this it’ll be something else. It wasn’t too long ago the priority problem was aoe caps & yet changing the color on your shield somehow became a priority XD
It’s just something that annoys me. All of the other things that need time & resources are difficult & take years, this “should” be relatively simple...
