Is there a particular method or routine you use? Any particular locations and spots within those locations your a fan of? Im a fan of efficiency and like to have a precise plan Before starting a farm.

There's usually tons of lower end plans in the guild bank and you can take them by simply exchanging a similar tier plan. Pick a zone and learn where all the treasure chests are as basic plans show up in them as well as the chests you get from the treasure maps. Harvest every little ting you come across as plants and things like mubcrabs will often also drop furnishing mats you'll need.

That being said I've had pretty good luck in Southern Elsweyr and DLC delves that have a lot of urns or furniture. I also loot every backpack and urn I find whether it is in a delve, dungeon or open world. Another way that also helps build gold is stealing and pick pocketing. I go for places that have a lot of furniture and other containers in the buildings.
The common plans can usually be found at traders for a decent price. The more common green and blues will tend to go for twenty'ish gold upwards to a hundred or two. You'll even find the occasional common purple in that range as well. It is how I filled out a lot of my furnishing plans and provisioning recipes. I still give them a quick go over when I'm buying other stuff at a trader to this day.
