Its as the title says, i have a lot of catching up to do. Im not looking for anything particjlarly rare, but just trying to expand my collection of designs and blue prints to be more comprehensive. And if certain "families" of furnishings are more likely to appear in one place over another (similar to how summerset has its own furnishings you can only get there) that would be helpful info as well

I love farming dragons for plans. And my next best source are dwemer and nord ruins. I fully admit that seeing a group of dwarven urns makes me go all fainty and pitter pattery inside. :P

Is there a particular method or routine you use? Any particular locations and spots within those locations your a fan of? Im a fan of efficiency and like to have a precise plan Before starting a farm.

I would also suggest joining a housing guild like Hearthlight. There's usually tons of lower end plans in the guild bank and you can take them by simply exchanging a similar tier plan. Pick a zone and learn where all the treasure chests are as basic plans show up in them as well as the chests you get from the treasure maps. Harvest every little ting you come across as plants and things like mubcrabs will often also drop furnishing mats you'll need.

For dragons go to Southern Elseweyr - since it's currently more populated, and the spawns are closer together. I don't really have any specific place I go to for urns. Just really anyplace that's a good size that has a lot of them. Vvardenfell has quite a few dungeons and crypts with lots of urns as well. Next time I'm in game I'll try to jot down some names. I just kind of go to them automatically and can't remember names right now. :P

This. Oh, check player vendors as well. You can fill in tons of holes pretty cheaply if you use something like Tamriel Trade Center to shop around (https://tamrieltradecentre.com/).

I don't know that there is any such thing as efficient farming of plans. They are random drops so you just have to loot anything and everything while hoping for the best. That being said I've had pretty good luck in Southern Elsweyr and DLC delves that have a lot of urns or furniture. I also loot every backpack and urn I find whether it is in a delve, dungeon or open world. Another way that also helps build gold is stealing and pick pocketing. I go for places that have a lot of furniture and other containers in the buildings.

The common plans can usually be found at traders for a decent price. The more common green and blues will tend to go for twenty'ish gold upwards to a hundred or two. You'll even find the occasional common purple in that range as well. It is how I filled out a lot of my furnishing plans and provisioning recipes. I still give them a quick go over when I'm buying other stuff at a trader to this day.

A large variety of blue plans were given out as rewards last year in the anniversary event. Prices cratered and have stayed low ever since, at least on PC/NA.

Green prices have been very low for longer than that.

This is all particularly true for furnishing recipes that are identified strongly with the 9 base game races, in that they have the race in their name and use the basic racial style stone as an ingredient.

As others have said, farm the guild stores; for the cheaper stuff, at least.

Most base game blues are not that price on the EU server.

    They're normally 900g+.

The vast majority of purples are pretty much never that low, on EU, either.

Which is good, in a way, as then most people would just dump them, rather than selling them!

The exception might be the specific blues from recent holiday events (e.g. Hagraven's Cauldron) and also some Daedric stuff, but the regular, base game racial ones are, almost invariably, quite a bit higher.
