{Feedback} Knight of the Circle Style Set- To much grind and RNG.

Twenty gladiator proofs for a single random armor style chapter and forty for a random weapon style page is absurd when you're only guaranteed a single proof per day. Starting from scratch that's almost a full month for just a single piece of armor with no guarantees that it won't be a duplicate.

Why not just have it sold for a high price in Alliance Points like the Militant Ordinator and Akavari motifs?

PvP players (including myself) are sitting on millions of AP and hundreds of gladiator proofs already.

Why should the method of obtaining them matter??

To put it another way, what if ZOS asked for 5 mil AP per armor style page and 10 mil AP for weapon style page?

Because that's what you're gonna get with your idea ...

HOWEVER, the pages you can obtain with this outfit style is quite limited ... only heavy armor style (no waist) and a limited number of weapon style pages: Maul, Sword & Shield, Staff, and Bow.

That's 320 Gladiator Proofs total (armor + weapon pages) without duplicates.

Bottom line: You'll be able to collect all the outfit pages sooner. BUT, you'll start getting style page duplicates sooner too.

I think I'm with the OP now

The Gladiator Proof cost is too high ... even if you can sell the duplicates in your local guild store.

I'd be OK with the current Proof cost if the Outfit Style had more detail and additional light/medium wearable options (like Akiviri and Militant Ordinator).

Thanks for the correction. In the General Discussion section there is a thread with pics that led me to think there were multiple weights. People seem to be playing mix-and-match with different styles.

I guess they're doing the "one of each type" with the weapons: one 1-hander, one 2-hander, and then the shield, staff, and bow. Better than the 10 it could be with every weapon represented, but with 320 proofs for the complete set (plus however many duplicates you get), that's probably well over a year's worth of grinding.

For comparison, the Gladiator Costume costs 50 Proofs and is going for 500k gold average now. By that exchange rate, each piece of this outfit might likewise go for 200k/400k, or 3.2 mil for the full set. Not even Honor Guard or Refabricated is worth half of that at fair prices, and they have 14 chapters each. This Circle style could easily be the most expensive by far in game thanks to the grind.

    Favorite Foods and Potions
    https://media.giphy.com/media/3otPoTggaYFNd1FdAI/giphy.gif
    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

And I thought there is nothing worse than doing 50 quests for imperial city costume. It's more then a year to farm all pages assuming you get a few duplicates and log in almost every day to open a box at exactly 20-24h interval. The grind in this game become more and more intense...

This is absurd. I'm glad we're getting more stuff that isn't limited to crowns, but given that the price on the market for each and ever piece is likely to be over one million gold, only PvPers and the very rich will be able to get much of this. It's beautiful, realistic armor, and I want it. But that's a LOT of proofs for a chance at a piece you want. Please, please reduce that number. Or have it available for AP so we can choose what parts we want. That'd be fantastic.

EDIT: Okay, so I was wrong. Gold price will probably be about 500,000 gold per piece. Still, that's a lot for most players.

Thank you for posting this up to inform those of us who cannot PTS. This system just sounds so strange. If they want to make these "gladiator proofs" another type of currency, why aren't they just in our currency tab already?

Actually, wait... no. Forget I said that. They might put a limit on how many "gladiator proofs" you can have if they do that. Which would make this suckful situation even more suckful.

On the upside, I now know I need not bother doing any more PvP for the current event. I was doing a bit more to get AP for a future AP-based motif release, but if they're going this route, I'm not gonna bother. Not a fan of PvP in this game, and am going to hard pass on something that's this difficult to get.

Well, I was afraid that they may ruin female version with some huge disproportionate breast and it is unclear from that screenshot if this is the case or not

If your female character's chest isn't really flat, this armor will not hide their feminine shape. It also will not balloon their chest up to ridiculous proportions unless you have a really busty character, though. This was a concern of mine, as well, so I tested it out.

Sure, you can buy it on a guild vendor, if you have a million gold. Lots of people do. Lots of people don't.

I get the feeling that these proofs are going to end up like the PvP version of undaunted keys. They didn't start out as a currency, so making them into a currency now and having a limit would cause some issues. I do hope they make it a currency, because I don't think they could enforce a limit this late into the game, fortunately.

There's also a chance they'll see the feedback and change it. A small chance, sure. (Devs, if you're reading this, please prove me wrong.) We have no idea when they plan to release this, as far as I know.

    Sadly, this armor looks amazing!

I thought that I had read a typo when I saw the price in Gladiator Proofs, it's like the old Xzibit meme of "Yo dawg, I heard you like grinding...".

It would be somewhat tolerable if you could actually EARN more than 1 proof per 20 hours cooldown but....

This has got to be changed before it goes Live, either reduce the G-Proof cost or enable alternative means of purchasing it, like with AP.

Fully agree with the OP, this houndsheit is too much of a grind.

The Arena costume, emote, hat and all that crap, and the siege stuff too? That was fair enough. But this seems to be aimed at those that have hoarded Arena Gladiator Proofs since they were released. IE, NOBODY

If they are gonna be released at this cost, then at least allow players to buy the pages with AP. Or even better, buy Arena Gladiator Proofs with AP, so that the other stuff isn't such a grind, either.

Former completionist with all achievements unlocked up until Update 29 (Flames of Ambition). Avid RPer, writer, and former Breton lover. Then Legacy of the Bretons was released and I realized just how boring and uninspired the Bretons are according to the writers.
