Do you buy Crown Riding Lessons?

"Purchased Lessons" is defined for this poll as points for that skill line were bought via crowns. Trading gold for crowns counts because somebody had to spend real money. Buying one or multiple lessons to satisfy the horse trait you wanted improved the most (Speed, Stamina, Capacity). Using in game gold per diem to finish off an odd number (get from 57-60) is acceptable for this category.

Free daily login lessons apply to game gold category, meaning the riding skill was not completed using any Crowns, but cost free in-game methods. No IRL currency was exchanged to improve your riding skill.

I always purchase riding lessons for new characters. But, I only buy 30 in each stat.

I'm always shocked when I see people say they actually spent crowns on these things. Seems like such a waste. (But, then, I'm not in any rush to 'complete' a character, so I guess it's just me.)

...and then I realize that people who've been ESO+ for a long time have giant piles of crowns to spend on stuff, so why the hell not.

I've been known to drop a buck here and there for lessons, skyshards or a completed skill line and I don't feel guilty about it (ha)

Neither. I have more crowns than interesting items for sale in the crown store.

I had to buy riding speed on one character with crowns. Speed is a necessity. Also bought the mages skill line and some skyshards cause i am just so sick of the grind. This was the only character though.

Having to do 30 days of not missing a stable upgrade per character just to get a horse to a decent speed is painful.

I miss my horse upgrades a lot. I haven't hit 60 on any horse, as I'm finishing off stuff with gold, but used crown lessons just to jumpstart speed to actually be a decent upgrade.

Never spent any crowns on lessons. I made mules a long time ago and just slowly train them so when I actually play them they are close to max

Only use gold and maybe any books they've given us for daily log in rewards. (Don't save any books I get from any crates, always gem those out)

I used in game gold to pay someone else to get it for me from the crown store. It's just that OP defined this as spending crowns on them.

Crown sellers want gold. I want my new characters to not be wading through tar for months. It's a win-win.

I just have a hard time justifying to myself $10 worth of crowns for 10 days of speed increase. Maybe that's just me but I'd honestly rather just level my toons through dungeons and have them port to other people in the world to get them places.

I have two level 4 necromancers, magicka and stamina that I'm leveling their mounts a day at a time. One day in the future I'll play them!

I bought 30 days worth to finish off the Speed lessons on a particular character I knew I wanted to PVP in Cyrodiil with. Not having to wait a month to use that character, or worse, spend a month lagging behind my group, getting ganked off my mount, and then playing catch-up all night was worth it for me.

I think I've purchased maybe 10 total since I started playing a few years ago. It's a bit tedious to log in each day to buy lessons for every character (I have 12 and only two have all three riding skills at max) but it's incomparably more economical to use in-game gold, if it can be remembered. I only use crowns for aesthetics (costumes, pets, etc) and the odd set of crown crates. That said, I use the hell out of the ones that drop from crown chests and login bonuses.

I level my characters riding % nearly all organically. Before I start the character-build/grind I have my newest characters parked at the stable until at least their speed/stamina is 30/30 or 40/30 (weird ritual of mine, lol). I have used crown gems to grab a few extra points here and there but I do not actively plan/count on buying my lessons.

It's a big pet peave of mine to start leveling a new character with a super slow mount and not having properly traited/legendary upgraded gear ready for immediate equipping at the stroke of 50. Call me weird but this is my process

18 characters with 60 horse speed. 12 have 60 stamina. ~6 have 60 inventory... the rest are still leveling whenever i remember. Of course I use the horse upgrades if they come in daily rewards but I've never bought any.

I have used the free lessons they now give away occasionally for daily sign-ins, but spending real money on this, no way. For the characters I’m leveling, I sign them in every day until they complete the three riding skills.
